Hi
I feel the Storm 2 has been released too early. Ive now had 3 storm 2's in a matter of 8 days and all 3 have had problems - different problems but problems. I see VF are getting the iPhone shortly so I think this is the route for me Phone 1: Calls cut off after about 30 seconds, screen went black for 2 or 3 seconds Phone 2: Calls were fine but screen would lock up for around a minute with no key working - not even the power, and the battery seemed to drain really fast (full charge depleted within 24 hours with little use) Phone 3: Calls are fine and no 1 minute lock ups and seemingly an ok battery but "sticky" and "unresponsive" screen near the top. Assume one of the 4 sensors are intermittently faulty. If I'm being tied into an 18 month contract, where, within 12 months of that 18 month contract, you will have deprecated the phone and moved onto bigger and better things, I don't intend to start a contract with a phone that has to be almost jabbed to get the screen to respond and the "click" happens about a second after its responded. Going to have to totally disagree with you I'm afraid, this handset has not been released to early, it is what the first Storm should have been and the Storm 1 was the test bed for this handset.
You are a very unlucky user of this handset, you only have to look at the forums and realise this is a succesful handset as nearly all the threads are questions on how to do things instead of complaints about how bad the handset is. I would speak to a MOD and see if you can get a handset changed instore so you can test it before leaving. This is a great handset and I hope you get a good one next. Also noticed you have a thread regarding this already open! This post has been edited by Bobbin: Nov 4 2009, 10:03 AM |

Hi DynoRodney,
I'm really disappointed to hear this - it sounds very unlucky to have had three faulty phones in that space of time If you're within 28 days from purchase of your first Storm 2, you can request a further replacement. Beyond this, we can only offer a repair. Did you get it from store, online or over the phone? Keep us updated on how you get on, or if you wish to proceed with a replacement / repair directly with us - we're not going to leave you in the lurch! Daz eForum Team -------------------- |

Hi Dynorodney,
Can yo post on here with the postcode of the areas where you've experienced these issues? We're currently investigating the call dropping on the Storm 2 so this info would be invaluable Paul eForum Team -------------------- |

I've had my Storm2 for 6 days now with no problems at all, the battery life could be better, but when you think that all the time that the phone is on, it's connected to the BlackBerry servers downloading your emails almost instantly, so that will decrease your battery life. Mine is improving after every charge, I've only charged it up 3 times in 6 days (which is better than my work colleague's original Storm.
@PaulE_Vodafone - Just to add something about the call dropping, I use my Storm2 in ME10 and ME12 postcodes with no dropping at all, not even when I've had bad signal. This post has been edited by Ryan Webb: Nov 4 2009, 09:27 PM -------------------- Thanks,
Ryan My current contract phone is a RIM BlackBerry Storm2 9520. I own or have owned the following: Sony Ericsson W715 (replacement for 2 faulty Nokia N97s), Nokia N97 (had 2, both broke - good riddance!), Nokia N95 8GB (condemned - water damage - now binned and sorely missed) , Sony Ericsson W910i (had 2, both broke, had N95 8gb as a replacement), Sony Ericsson W900i (mostly trouble free, needed firmware updates a few times), Sony Ericsson V600i (PAYT - trouble free, still works fine today!) |
