Hi All,

We'd like to gather your thoughts, opinions, suggestions and observations on the new BlackBerry Storm following on from the official launch. If you'd like to leave your feedback on this thread it will make it easier for us to communicate this back to our Devices teams and provide you with any additional support you may need.

Before posting any questions we would first ask that you check out our detailed BlackBerry Storm FAQs, available in our online Help Centre.

Also, we've created a BlackBerry Storm Help thread on the Vodafone eForum which includes a selection of video tutorials. As your feedback comes in we'll be building up our 'Storm Help' thread with solutions to any questions you decide to post to our team.

Many thanks

Hopefully many of you on the forum will be receiving your Blackberry Storms in the next few hours or collecting from VF shops.

Once you've had time to charge and get some hands on - please post your thoughts here.

Any nice photos will also be good.

Being one of the lucky few able to use a pre-release version of the phone I can say that it's a fantastic device. The media on the handset will simply blow you away, it's comparible to watching a HD television.

The camera is very good as expected, the usability of the device is very good aswell.

Only thing I believe people will have difficulty with is getting used to the touchscreen typing, however a few days practicing that and they'll breeze through it.

The box is really fancy, black with Blackberry in silver and the voda logo. Inside is the handset, bettery, a leather pouch, wired handsfree, usb cable, instructions and a CD. This is the first time i've seen the storm in the flesh. Im really impressed. It feels solid and heavy, but not overly heavy. Theirs alot of those plastic things covering the phone, i've took them all off but noticed theirs on covering the screen, think i'll leave that one on.

I've switched it on and theirs a little clock type icon ad a blue progress bar along the botom, wish it would hurry up so i can play with it. Finally! Wow, the screen quality is amazing! The interface is great Typing on it is easier that any other touch screen i've ever used. Im going to play with it a bit more and will post back later. How you all get yours soon.

Had a good play now, does take a while to reboot!! I am getting a sim card rejected at the moment?? Screen is good, clear and is basically one large button! You can here it click when you press down.

Phone feels well made seems quite easy to use.
Just need to find out why sim card rejection! dry.gif

Hi

Mine has arrived it does take ages to start up but I think all Blackberrys do this the first time you use them or after you pull the battery.

Have to say I love the little Navigation brochure looks so like the brochure you get with an iPhone.

Thanks to all those that replied... I will hold on to my sliver of hope, considering none of you have had texts either... Horray (I hope)!

Just went down to my Voda shop and bought the dock... Now I just need the phone to put in it! blush.gif

Wondered if one of you lucky guys could check in the manual to see if you can sync / charge the Storm using the enclosed USB cable, or whether you have to buy the additional docking base?

thanks! smile.gif

Its really strange to type on. I feel that you have to press the screen quite hard, this just feels a wrong thing to do. If I had to say now which is easier to type on the iPhone or the Storm I would have to say the iPhone.

However I have only had the handset for 30 mins I will use the Storm over the weekend and if I am not happy it will go back.

It's killing me this. Here i am stuck at work, knowing a postman or delivery driver is currently knocking on my front door with no reply! I did leave a note on my door asking for any delivery to left next door (as the woman next door never goes out!)

Fingers crossed they'll let her sign for it...or it will be a trip to a depot tonight or tomorrow morning to pick it up!

Anyone got any pictures of the box, kit and phone?

See the Engadget Review and you'll see a nice pic of the Storm in the cradle - a nice accessory me thinks.

Their report says it was coming with the cradle - so we need to see whether or not it does in the US and if we are once again "Rip Off" Britain (or not). I am sure the RIM Execs must have said it was coming with the cradle or they wouldn't have mentioned it. The packaging would have already been done by then.
