I am getting a pop up ad from promotional-sweepstakes.com Saying  Congratulations Daisy Communications user  You sare selected by Google to be among the first few persons to win an iPhone 6s etc etc - Please confirm that you are the owner of this Android 6.0 phone by clicking OK.

I have not clicked it but behind it is a Google Membership Rewards screen saying that I have wone a google gift.

My wife is also getting a similar message

I have run virus and malware check but it doesn't find any. What should I do.

Sounds like click bait to me. 

Ignore it. 

Try clearing caches and cookies. 

As a last resort you could create a back up and factory reset.

Thanks for the sugestion and I have done that .

When I look at my chrome browser hostory I see things in there that I have not gone into eg maxonclick.com which when I have googled it appears to be adware. I have tried to clear the data and cache on the applications manager internet but it just comes back.

I suppose that I will need to do a factory reset next?

Hi. Have you downloaded any apps lately? I have had this sort of thing from within apps before and got rid of it by uninstalling apps.

no new apps although I reloaded BBC sport..

Looks like it is adware maxonclick.com.
