Missing app icons

Hi,

today I removed my SD card correctly to be able to format a smaller card I used before, all seemed to be ok when re installing the newer one but now there are x2 App icons missing?

I have looked everywhere and tried to get them back but no luck.

One is the offline Google maps, which with the other lost one I can open if I search.

Any ideas what I have done and how to get them back?

What phone are you using?

If it's a Samsung if you long press on your home screen or pinch with two fingers.

you should get three options

if you select widgets  there is options in there to set up shortcuts for Google maps and lots of other ones as well 

All depends on what device you have.

I'm not sure with your model of phone if this feature is available,  but had the missing apps been moved from the phones storage to the original Sd Card previously  ?

No, these were not created on the old card as I only downloaded them a couple of days ago.
