Software Update Download Time

Got a notification about a software update for my Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 astound 3 hours ago and decided there and then to go ahead. However, after the said 3 hours the download is still only 25% complete. How long do these things take?

It shouldn't take that long. It could be that there are lots of people downloading it so the servers are struggling to cope.

If it was me I would cancel it and try again later.

How's your speeds over wifi ?

 

As said it could be the servers having a melt down or your wifi speeds are a little slow. 

 

Did you note the size of the download file ?

Only kidding! Restarted download and it's now complete and installing.

@boloLet us know how you get on.   There's another thread where the OP is having issues, but I suspect it's specific to their phone and not widespread.

Phone not only running smoothly after update, but a problem I had with Chrome prior to the update, has been sorted out in the process. All in all, a good result. And by the way, I know that it's not to be recommended, but just like last time, I carried out the procedure without backing up.

 

One important point! After discovering that my AV and my MBAM had been turned off during the the update, I went through the 'settings' and found that quite a few of my settings had to be reset.
