So yet again there is another update. Has anyone updated yet? I've heard from other forums the battery now drains quicker and the battery takes longer to charge.
Anyone had this issue?

I only updated yesterday but at present no.

Have you tried clearing the system cache first.

This is different to a full reset as it does not affect user data.

"Step #1 Turn your phone OFF.

Step #2 Boot into Recovery Mode:- Press and hold, simultaneously, the Volume UP + Power + Home buttons until you see some small, blue, writing appear in the top left hand corner of the screen and release immediately.

Step #3 You will then see the small, stock, Recovery menu. Using the Volume UP and DOWN buttons, navigate to the menu item "Wipe cache partition".

Step #4 Once the option is highlighted you can use the Power key to enact the wipe and reboot your phone."

Which update have you seen ?

What firmware are you currently on ?

I have an unbranded Samsung Galaxy s7 edge so am not restricted by Network checked firmware releases.

Rather confusing this, it says it wants to update to version G930FXXS1BPJ1/G930FVFG1BPH2/G930FXXU1BPHJ. Size 25.36MB. Current version installed G930FXXU1BPHJ

I downloaded and installed that update on my S7 last week and have had none if the issues mentioned.

Thanks for that. I realise it's best to do a factory reset, but these updates are quite regular at the moment. Did you do the usual factory reset or just installed the update?

I think these are the monthly security updates they are rolling out, I don't do a full factory reset after these ones, I may do for the nougat update when it comes.

FWIW, when I do a firmware update, I always:

Clear recent apps and ap caches

Restart the phone

Run the update process before doing anything else

The theory is that it gives the devices as much of its resources as possible and without anything else running that might get in the way and possibly cause corruption.  I've done two platform updates on one device that way without a reset.  I agree that resets are a pain and I'd have hoped Samsung had got that sorted by now.
