3G 8GB - recurring signal problems.

Hey there folks!

 

I've had a look around in previous topics as well as the support questions, but couldn't find anything to fit my query. My nearest vodafone shop is a bit far away, so thought I'd check here, just in case!

 

I've been having recurring signal problems with my iPhone 3G.

 

When I visit Glasgow [I'm there about four, five times a week] there are certain places in the city centre where I can't use my phone. It reads as having full signal and 3G internet, and yet it's unable to send a text, can't connect a call and isn't able to connect to the internet.

I've tried doing a soft reset every time it does this but it doesn't seem to solve the issue.

 

It doesn't seem to happen anywhere other than the city centre, and I've already checked that the area has full 3G and broadband coverage. It's a bit problematic when I'm there so much and can't use my phone, especially with so long left to go on my contract.

I'm sorry to hear of the problems you have been having in Glasgow.

 

Are you getting this in any particular area? If you can get us exact postcodes that would be great, as it allows us to track which mast is causing the problem. It might also be worth checking our Network Troubleshooting guide, to see if that helps you at all.

The post code I'm usually in is G1 2TA.

 

I gave 191 a call earlier today, and tech said to reset the network settings. Hopefully that should sort it out, I'll see tomorrow.

Just find it odd I've had no problems for about a year, then the past two months it's been behaving oddly - especially when it's telling me there's full signal.

 

Tomorrow will be the test!

Many thanks for the update here, I have taken a look at your postcode that you have mentioned in your post and can't see any network issues.

 

As you said that you are going to test this today, please can you let us know the results of this and we will follow this up with you.

Hi.

 

I am having a problem. I got no bars on my signal it says vodafone UK and 3G i can go on the net but i cannot make any phone calls or receive any. I havent gone over my limited as i wont use 500 mins of call time and got unlimited text. Any ideas???

Welcome to the eForum!

 

It sounds like your having a bit of a problem.

 

I've checked your area for any cell issues, but all the sites are functioning and taking traffic.

 

It may be worth reading through our network troubleshooting guide, and try dropping down to GSM.
