Apparently not. Every company is after some sort of exclusivity whether it be the local supermarket, mobile phone network or Internet service provider. It annoys me, as well as others, to find that if you want something you have to go out of your way, not to mention your pocket, to get it.
This is the very reason why Microsoft have been hammered with anti-trust lawsuits time and again. Not everyone has an iPhone or an iPod. And I certainly don't use iTunes. I can pick up my music for less than half the price and half the hassle if I visit the record fair that's held in my town twice a week.

Thanks for the post.

This is indeed a sad, if not surprising story. Hopefully the Pre will get an update to get around it but probably not. Also, even if another loophole was found, Apple would just release another update any way, which is a shame.

Thats a really underhanded thing for them to have done. Like they dont make enough money as it is! :angry:
