Cancelling contract

Upgraded today In store, when setting up my iPhone I decided to log into my Vodafone online, only to find the package listed for me, is not the package I took out. I rang Vodafone, but the customer service agent was unable to help me as the details hadn't come through. He advised I go back to the store. To say I'm hugely disappointed is an understatement. So much so I'm on the verge of cancelling the whole thing. The price is wrong as are the allowances as is the contract length. I know I have a 7 day cooling off period, but my new iPhone is now set up ( done before I logged into my Vodafone account online). Do I still have the right to cancel once the iPhone is up and running?

Re: Cancelling contract

You have 7 days to return it even if you have set your phone up,

Do bear in mind any discounts may not be showing on your online plan, but if you want to return it or confirm details best place is to go back to store, do you have paperwork from the store, if you have this you are in a perfect position to get this resolved,

Re: Cancelling contract

Yes I have paperwork , telling me it's an 18 month contract and the price. The plan in my contract is a series of letters and numbers which the sales assistant told me wouldn't make any sense to me, so she reiterated what I was getting. On logging into my Vodafone online, the term of the contract says 24 months, the price is wrong, and all the allowances are wrong . I read somewhere if you buy I store you dont get the 7 day return cooling off period, but it's not a case of not getting what my contract states in terms of price or contract length and not getting what the sales assistant assured me I was getting!

Re: Cancelling contract

7 days still does apply in stores, and does not include Saturday and Sunday. so longer than initially you may expect.

If term is wrong it sounds as if its been set up wrong, codes are normally  like Y4 24IP 600m Ult 500mbWF and stuff like that, but best to get it resolved early,

Re: Cancelling contract

Quote" You have 7 days to return it even if you have set your phone up, " unquote So do I take the sim out and put it back in my iphone4 and do a restore from back up and put the iphone4s( new one just set up) back to factory settings before I go back to the store, in order to hand it over if we cant get a resolution, whilst telling them that's what I've done, or should I leave the newly set up iphone4s as is, and hope we get resolution? Either way. What should have been a great experience ie getting my new phone, has left a very bitter taste in my mouth, and there is no way I would have taken out the package that is showing in my online account,

Re: Cancelling contract

I would take it back to the store as is, and I am certain it will be resolved if you have signed paperwork, it would then be honoured, its probably just an admin error which can be quickly resolved for you.

Re: Cancelling contract

Aye - take it back to the store, and explain that what you signed up for does not seem to be what is reflected online.

They should be able to resolve it there and then.

Remember though, if you upgraded early, any remaining contract period will be added to your new deal, so worth keeping in mind if the length is extended and the price is somewhere between the old and the new deal.

Re: Cancelling contract

Well definitely the contract term is wrong as is the price, but the series of numbers and letters does have 600 in it ( which tallies with the 600 minutes my Vodafone online says I have) but which is different to the 900 minutes the sales assistant informed me it was. Plus online there is no mention of my 3,000 vodaphone to vodaphone minutes or my european data allowance. The assistant gave me the vodaphone to vodaphone allowance because as I don't send many texts she took away the unlimited texts and set a limit to the texts( still well over what I would normally use) and in return gave me vodaphone to vodaphone minutes. I had told her it was essential I have European data allowance - she told me it was there at 25mb per day plus 10 txtts, but no mention of it in my Vodafone online account. :-(

Re: Cancelling contract

My old contract only had 16 days left. My new tarrif is marginally less than my old contract.i have printed out what my Vodafone online says ie wrong length of contract and wrong price. Plus I've printed out the allowances showing which are different to that which was explained. Im hoping for resolution but as previously said - it's left a bitter taste. If it can't be resolved I see no other option but to cancel and either take my business elsewhere or negotiate a new contract.

Re: Cancelling contract

Returned to the Vodafone store today with my phone and contract and a print out from my Vodafone account online, and everything was sorted. Yesterday's contract overwritten with a new one with the correct allowances and term length. Phew!

Re: Cancelling contract

Can anyone tell me how long it takes before your account is updated online, yesterday, when I was given the wrong contract , that wrong contract appeared in My Vodafone online within 4 hours of upgrading. Today that contract has been overwritten with a new contract yet My Vodafone is still showing the wrong contract. Cheers

Re: Cancelling contract

Hi lightchaser,

There's no "set time" for it to appear, but can you advise if you're still seeing the incorrect contract now? If so, let us know and we'll take a look to put your mind at rest for you.

Re: Cancelling contract

My Vodafone online was still showing the wrong details this morning so I gave customer services a call. Am pleased to say it was resolved and my Vodafone online is now showing the correct plan on the page after log in. My Vodafone app however is informing me that Vodafone app for business users is coming soon. I'm NOT a business user. Guess it may take longer for the app to display the correct information.

Re: Cancelling contract

Also ... On My Vodafone online , the box next to My Plan just says Sorry we cannot find your details at this time, I'm assuming that because the info in the box called My Plan is now correct, it will only be a matter of time till that " cannot find your details" is rectified. 4 days and counting ...........

Re: Cancelling contract

Could a member of the tech team please take a look at my account to make sure my contract is now correct? My Vodafone online says my details are not available, my Vodafone app says " coming for Business users soon" - I'm not a business user , it's a personal account. This is now day 5 since my upgrade' Thanks

Vodafone app

This is a follow on from the thread " cancelling contract" . My Vodafone app will not work - it assumes I'm a business client. Keep getting the me stage Vodafone app is coming soon for business customers ' meanwhile you can use wi if finder. I am NOT a business customer , it's a personal account, and this has just started happening since I upgraded. Prior to that it worked fine! HELP!!
