Could not activate cellular dfata network!

Hi!

after finally getting my phone unblocked today (after I lost it.. then found it) I've had a problem and thing someone at Vodafone may have changed something on my account.

Basically no matter what I do I can't se the internet or any apps that use data, I can send SMS and make calls, cant send MMS though.

I've tried checking my WAP settings etc and they all match up to what voda say it should be, also tried reseting network settings and reseting the data usage counter, I'm running on iOS 4.1 as I hear 4.2 has a fair few issues.

Any ideas why this has happened?

if a moderator could check my account to make sure nothing has been disabled or anything that'd be great.

Thanks

Re: Could not activate cellular dfata network!

Hey TuckerAylomen,

Thanks for your post regarding having no access to cellular data on your unblocked handset. I can imagine this is hugely frustrating for you, especially on a data intensive handset like yours.

From the symptoms you describe, I believe this to be account specific in nature, and I can see James emailed you earlier regarding your other thread here but we've yet to have a reply to that email.

If you could reply to James' email with the requested information and include a link back to this thread, we'll be able to kill two birds with one stone :smileywink:

I look forward to your response.

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Could not activate cellular dfata network!

Hi checrazy clown

Welcome to the eForum Team

Hmm  I have had this error message on my iPhone before usually when I'm searching for  network  or have swapped  bands from 3G to  GSM, I can understand how annoying this must be if your trying to  connect to the network.

Have you tried to power your phone completely off by holding down the Home key and the Sleep/Wake key until the device  powers off?

I would also suggest backing your phone up and performing an Iphone restore and seeing if this resolves the problem.

I've checked  your registered Post Code location but cannot find any data faults as such  and can see that you

Please let me know if you are still having a problem

Thanks

Re: Could not activate cellular dfata network!

I have tried the power off procedure, but it is then taking several attempts to get it to switch on again, the apple screen is coming up and it is freezing there.

When i tried to do a back up and restore via itunes it was backing up for bout an hour then said back up failed and asked if i wanted to continue without backup, To be honest i wasnt sure if that may cause any problems so i stopped there Im not sure what to do now
