Hi,
I've just read a few forums about if its possible to downgrade your iPhone contract on vodafone. And how they allow that on Orange and O2 when you're 9 months into the contract. I think its really unfair that vodafone do not have this similar option. I'm a uni student and so budgeting is a big deal for me but that didn't stop me from wanting one of the best phones out on the market. I had called vodafone and initially the person serving me said after 7 months i can downgrade and then i call again and someone else says i cannot at all. Are there no exceptions for specific people in specific circumstances??? I mean me personally i don't even use my minutes well barely use them because my "wife to be" is also on vodafone and my contract includes free vodafone to vodafone calls. So can't there be any changes made???
And another thing i would like to raise: is it possible to upgrade to another phone??? I'm currently on the 3GS is it possible to upgrade to the iPhone 4 whilst in still in the middle of my contract? I dont even mind handing back my 3GS its still in pristine condition. So is that possible???
Thanks

First off, technically speaking 1 month after your contract begins... you can upgrade early.. however it is at cost.. for example:
Your contract is 10 pounds per month and there is 7 months remaining, you'd probably be expected to pay nearly 70 pounds to "roll back your commitment"... not to cancel not to migrate or anything but to honour the commitment and still stay with Voda... no problem.. done thousands of times.. well not thousands but i've done it loads.
What price plan are you using?

Well it would be for example then emmmm 28 or 29 without VAT? x 9 to "cancel" so it would be the same to roll back the commitment... the advisor probably wont do it so ask for a manager but.. nicely. Can Admin verify this also as I could have just been lucky

Hi Shamz90,
Firstly, a very warm welcome to the eForum Family, it's always great to see new faces on here
.
In terms of downgrading your contract, this is no longer possible on any new price plans since May/June last year. Prior to this, we did allow price plans to be downgraded by one step after 9 months had passed.
In regards to an early upgrade, we are due to soon launch a scheme where customers will be able to upgrade within the final 180 days of their contract, this hasn't been officially launched yet though so I don't have the exact details. If you wanted to, you would be able to pay off the remainder of your Contract so that you're no longer in commitment though.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. So do you have any idea or perhaps find out when exactly they plan to implement that idea???
