Factory reset

My boyfriend had to recently buy a new phone because his old phone was annoying him so much. He had to get it unlocked to take his O2 sim card.

The old owner put her Gmail account on and the only thing that will erase that is a factory reset. But, seen as he got the phone unlocked, would the factory reset effect it?

Re: Factory reset

HI there - the factory reset will completely wipe all user data - texts, settings, music etc.  It will not affect the unlocked status of the phone at all as once an iPhone has been unlocked it remains unlocked!

Re: Factory reset

If it was officially unlocked it will remain unlocked. If it was unofficially unlocked or jail broken you might have a problem.

Re: Factory reset

Thanks.

He is on O2. With this new phone he is still having difficulty receiving texts. This is the second phone he's had with this problem. The first phone was an HTC Sensation and this one is a Galaxy Y. Is it likely to be the network? - I have a Galaxy Europa on Vodafone and I've had no problems receiving texts. I should mention that he has had full signal.

Re: Factory reset

You are probably better off posting your query in the Galaxay forum:
