Google Email

i currently have four email accounts set up through Virgin Media, i use google mail to acces the accounts through my Iphone 3GS , the problem i have is that i cannot figure out howto send an email from the handset and choose which of my four accounts i want to send from, they all send from my googlemail account, showing my google address, is there any way which i can choose which account to send from? i know i can do this directly from  Google on my PC.

Also is there any way to speed up the emails coming from Google, sometimes i dont seem to receive message for nearly an Hour after they have been sent.

Re: Google Email

Hi .. When you compose email from iPhone click on the email listed in the from field and you should get a scroll list of all the emails active on the phone. You can send from any. If you have multiple addresses from one account you must set each up seoerately in order to choose.. Hope that helps.. Any issues get back to me.. Regards 

Re: Google Email

Hi DeanH

Can you take a screenshot your email composition screen by holding the menu button and tapping the sleep wake button on the top right side.

I've just checked my iPhone and I have a "to:" option then below this I have a CC/BCC/From option. I tap on this it expands and I can choose which email to send to.

Thanks

Re: Google Email

Ben,

are you using googlemail?

i will get a screen shot uploaded  shortly, i have the same fields as you, although i do not have any options to choose which email account to send from - it only shows my googlemail address. On my Desire Z i do have a drop down menu allowing me to choose.

I have created one of my accounts as a seperate account on the handset, i then do get the option to choose to send from my google address or the standalone account, although i get the error message from the outgoing server for the standalone account.

i can do what i need to do using googlemail on my desktop and Desire Z but not on the iphone.

Re: Google Email

The best way to set up a GMail account is using the Exchange ActiveSync protocol.

This allows push email (i.e. straight to your phone as soon as they arrive), and calendar/contact sync.  Your emails will be mirrored on the GMail website as well.

If you want to give it a try - Settings > Mail > Add account > Microsoft Exchange (NOT the gmail icon) > fill in details, leave domain blank and click next.  It will then add a 'server' box which is m.google.com
