I'm in need of some help from the eforum team!
My iPhone 3gs got accidentally knocked into a dogs bowl and i need to cliam on my banks phone insurance, but they are asking for 'Proof of usage' or 'Proof of Purcase'..
I have kept all the receipts but the last one (all have different IMIE numbers) as it has been replaced so many times under warranty in the apple store! Thinking of it I dont think the bloke never gave me a receipt!
The insurance company say that I should contact vodafone and ask for a Proof of usage that will include my current IMIE number and i suppose my phone number?
I have rung 191 so many times and had different answers each time and one e-mail reply from them talking about a proof of purchase but vodafone can't possibly give me one as i got the phone from apple! I've also spoke to the insurance company countless time but they wont do nothing as they say they always get proof of usage from vodafone!!
I hope this all makes sense as I', fighting a 9month old whilst reading this!

Same problem for me please, can you contact me too?
I contacted Vodafone a minute ago and she sent me an email confirming this but I know an email wont be good enough for Lifestyle Services so should get this done properly.

Hi i also am having diffculty with getting a proof of usuage i need one for my insurance as i have lost my iphone but every time i ring vodafone they dont have a clue what im talking about???

I am facing this same issue but am not with vodafone. I was hoping that I could get some information on how this was resolved as everytime I talk to 3 mobile customer support they dont have a clue on what I am asking.
4 calls later being promsed they will email some docuements over and then those emails never arriving is telling me they're just trying to get me off the phone.
Your help will be appreciated.

A proof of usage is no problem at all, all we need to do is verify yourself and your account and we can get this sorted for you.
I have sent you an email to the address you registered with on here, please complete and reply to this, once we have it back we can proceed.

I am sorry to hear the difficulties you are facing with 3.
We are able to send proof of usage because we are able to check the IMEI number for the handset with what has been used, even if the handset is not the one that’s been upgraded to originally our systems can cross reference the information and establish what handset is being used.
We can also then check any activity on the SIM with this as well and as long as it all matches with what we have we can send proof of purchase either direct to the insurer or to the customer.
We are only able to do this for our customers unfortunately as we can only see their information, I would love to assist you with this however I am afraid you will have to persist with 3 and the switch to us at a later date.

A proof of purchase is slightly different to a proof of usage. We have a specific team who handle these, and they need to be requested by email.
If you email in via our contact us by email form and include all the requested details, including your date of birth and address for security, we'll be able to get that request sorted for you.
Let us know if you have any issues and we'll chase things up for you.
