Okay so Saturday i phoned vodafone to order an ipad 2. Got a great deal for existing customers.
Free ipad 2 for £32 a month 16gb. So i went for it!
The lady on the phone was great, said 2 weeks maxium for delivery, but expected to arrive in 1 week. She told that Vodafone had 20,000 back orders.
So i ordered, got my confirmation email, etc.
So yesterday i phoned asking how my order was coming along, spoke to a guy in the online logistics department and he said they had just got stock in and i was due to get my ipad 2 before the next monday but most likely to have it for Friday this week! Amazing i said!
Well got an email last night showing 3-4 week delivery time scale due to stock issues. So phoned first thing today and phoned another 2 times each time i got told something different!
First story : Ipad 2 will be 1-2 weeks for delivery, dont worry
Second Story - Ipad 2 will be in stock Monday and all orders from friday 25th dispatch first before the saturday 26th are done. 500 units arriving this friday, well strange as they have 20,000 on back order!
Third story : Ipad 2 will be with me in 2 weeks!
Can someone shed some light as to what is going on ?

I am so, so disappointed and angry with Vodafone. I ordered my iPAD2 14 days ago and, despite the promise of its arrival within 7-14 days, still nothing. To add insult to injury my order was on hold for 7 days as Vodafone were waiting on me to contact them...for what I hear you ask?...for my mobile number! I'm a customer of 13 years and although Vodafone had my email to confirm my iPAD2 order, no one could get in touch with me. So, 7 days completely wasted!! I also find the responses I get from customer service, how shall I put it, a little less than containing. Basically, they apologise for whatever error and wish you a nice day. Most, most frustrating. Come on Vodafone, can't you do better?

This is my problem with Vodafone. There are inconsistent stories about the delays and delivery timescales.
I have chased vodafone both in store and on 191 and again have been told different stories. My favourite today was that if I went into the stores then I may be able to get a 64gb ipad there as the stores were starting to get delivereies. This means that they are sending ipads to the stores before fullfilling any existing orders, no wonder the timescales seem to have changed.
After arguing with cusomter services, they actually gave me the phone number of a local store. I got through to them and the staff said they were not getting any stock and woudl fullfill exisitng orders first. So again, the stores and 191 are giving different sides to the same story, there are many of us waiting for ipads and would just have prefered to have known how long we have to wait (acurately).
If I was tolf 3-4 weeks to start, I woudl have accepted it. On the basis of being told 1 week originally and only last week, told 1 further week to wait, I am just getting frustrated every day.
My personal opinion woudl be to harass these forums so the Mods can get a sesne of the issue and make sure you complain to Vodafone on 191.

There is a clear and absolute absence of leadership on this issue from Vodafone. No one is able to, or willing to, take control of this issue. There are now, well over, 100 emails from Vodafone customers who have ordered an iPAD2, who have been given over 50 different timescales for delivery. What is going on? I can only presume that senior management are either completely unaware of the chaos that is going on before them or that they just don't care. Either way, this is a most unfortunate situation. The press would love this.

There is a response from one moderator, Kay, on 11.04.11 who says that the current wait time for an iPAD2 is 4-8 weeks! So, why, why, why, is the leading email post form moderator Tom on this site still saying that it is 2-4 weeks. incidentally, that email hadn't been updated since the 01.04.11. We demand an explanation for the absence of clear, informative, timely and decisive leadership on this issue.

I had the same thing.. i ordered an ipad on 25th march .. only to find my order had been cancelled.. then i was on a list then i was not.. then i was.. then i was not... and so on.. then i just ended up re ordering my ipad... although my issue is now sorted... and its just a case of waiting for my device.. vodafone have been a complete joke regarding the ipad2s.. no clear indication at all.. and have been told diffrent stories

I have been a vodafone customer for about 2 years-ish. i have on the whole been happy with their service. They do seem to have problems with honesty. I ordered my ipad 2 on 27/03/2011 and was given a timescale of within 2 weeks. This seems pretty rdiculous now, considering when I have ordered things in the past, they haven;t told me they are out of stock, it is really frustrating that there is no consistency.
It seems that people in the shops, if you don't mind are ill-informed and if they along with the customer service on the phone are one compnay they should at least be consistent in what they are telling people. It is no wonder people are confused.
when I ordered it, ithe ipad was for my birthday and I was given a timescale in the shop of between 2-4 days. They assured me I would get it well before my birthday, well my birthday was yesterday and ipad is still a no show.
I work in a customer service contact centre myself and we would never get away with this kind of thing. I hope everyone gets their ipads soon....

There is a sticky on the forum which has been written by Tom, our Community Manager. Due to high demand, when you placed your order the waiting time was 2-4 weeks.

We have received that email, but then when we were told we would get a call after 10 days to give us an update and we don;t. It does make you wonder what is going on. If you pay money, you o expect some level. We were told by customer service apparently we were meant to get it by the end of this week or Monday next week. This doesn't really look realistic now.

Been bugging Vodafone and the store I placed the order with and so far nothing. I called Vodafone and one of their guys sent me a txt that says ..... "As per our discussion earlier your order is currently backlogged due to stock levels but you should receive your order between the 13th and the 20th April".
Now since that txt I've been calling and all they say is no stock just wait but I've now got a date range in black and white (well txt) and if Vodafone do not deliver the ipad between these dates are they in breach of contract or is it all down to one word "should"?
Ordered instore 30th and its now the 16th April thats 2 weeks and 3 days of waiting from the order date.
Terrible service in the way the orders are being taken, why cant they NOT take orders until stock is in, that way no one is waiting around like a spare bananna in a wedding.

Before we go any further here... Has anyone checked the news? APPLE doesn't even have any iPad 2's, they have only recently began shipping orders placed online from day 1!

I'm quite glad that I came across this thread. Having ordered my iPad 2 on the 25th March I was starting to think it was just me having an issue. OK when I ordered I was told the lead time would be up to 2 weeks but hopefully sooner however I have had absolutely no contact or communication from Vodafone regards the order. There was an initial delay due to a credit check, which as a VF customer for over 10 years I was told should not of been necessary.
Hopefully I will see my iPad soon.......

I have taken this from another posting by one of the moderators :
"The current timescale for delivery is 2-4 weeks. During this time we'll be in touch via email to keep you informed. We'll send emails three and six days after ordering and we'll call on day ten."
can any say they have had this happen as i have not and still awaiting any sort of email. and im on day 15. and no phone call i so i phone myself and got told another weeks wait i was told possible delivered by the 6th to instore.
