Iphone 3gs NUC code

Hi everyone

I have been given a colleagues upgrade due to him not wanting to change. He has called 191 to request the unlock code from apple through VF, they have told me the process takes upto 72hours. Although a little impatient I understand this.

I have read on this forum that this may not be the case: could take upto 14 days, can't be done as he is still in his contract, I will need his sim card to activate before the unlock will take place?

Could anyone please confirm that the unlock is possible and a realistic time frame for Apple to release the NUC code?

Thank you

Not from my personal experience, but the 7-14 days is more realistic from what I hear, I thought the requester received an email when done by maybe not, to unlock pretty sure you just have to have a sim card that wasn't previously in the phone at time of sync ! good luck

Re: Iphone 3gs NUC code

Hi Clubber

When I got my 3GS I also contacted Vodafone to get it unlocked.  As I understand it, you wont need the original sim card.  What should happen is that Vodafone submit the unlock request to Apple which then adds that unique IMEI to be flagged as unlocked.  When you next sync through itunes this information is sent to the phone and voila.

That is how it seemed to work for mine, it did take 12 days though but once submitted to Apple it's out of Vodafones hands so can't blame them for any delay.
