Iphone 5s took a bath

Oopsie!  My iphone took a bath.  It had almost no charge, and now is turned off completely and doesnt seem to be charging when plugged in.

I have it in a bag of rice - but other than that is there any other advice?

I dont think i have any device insurance unless its covered by home insurance

It's only been an hour and i am lost without it!

Appreciate any help.... x

Hi,

Remove the sim tray and SIM card too.

Dont turn it on for at least a week or so leaving it in the rice.

Do check Home Insurance and some Bank Accounts give cover too as a perk of the account. T&C and excess fees apply.

What stage are you at in your Contract or are you Payg ?

 offer an express replacement at a cost.

Hello @LisaInCheshire

Without insurance for accidental damage, your options are going to be limited.

If the phone has water damage, corrosion will soon start to set in.  The best thing to do is to take the phone straight to a Apple Store, with the correct tools for Apple devices, they may be able to do something.  Quite sure Apple can offer an exchange for a price which may be cheaper than having to purchase a new phone at the full price.
