My Vodafone App not working on iPhone 3GS

Hello.
I Downloaded this app and it didn't work, i was told by someone I spoke to at Vodafone that i had to wait for my next bill to be generated, which it has and it still doesn't work. I've tried uninstalling and installing many of times. is there a way to fix this? I'm finding it quite frustrating that it doesn't work as I used to use it quite a lot on my old HTC. My partner is having exatly the same problem on his iPhone 4 too , except his a new customer but has had 3 bills. Any suggestions?

I’m sorry to hear that you and your partner are having problems with the app.
So that we can diagnose where the problem lies, can you tell me exactly what happens when you try and use the app? Do you get any error messages at all? If so, what are they?

Hello.
It tells me to connect over 3g to set it up, which I do. it then gets about a quater of the way across the loading bar (it says fetching your details underneath it) and then stops. It then comes up and says "Unexpected error. we cant return your account information right now. please try again shortly" which is all it has ever said. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it many times. Last time I got in contact about this (via web chat) I was told to wait for my next bill to be genrated which it has been. It used to work on my HTC fine. Its only been since I brought this iPhone on Pay as you go amd put my contract sim in it that i've had problems.
As for my partner, it says on his that because he is a new customer his details cant be retrived and he needs to wait for his bill to be generated. As I said he has had had 3/4 bills now.

Hi beckywinter,
You shouldn’t be having any issues however, I can see that you clearly are.
When you are connecting to 3G and loading the app, does it load if you are pressing try again?
I have a similar issue son my BlackBerry from time to time and this resolves the issue for me.
However, if this is not the case please can you let me know what software version you are currently running on the phone and which version of the Application you have installed?
Once we have this we will be able to investigate this further for you as there isn’t a generic issue with the app as we have a number of iPhone users in the office that use the Application everyday.

Hello.
I've tried pressing the Try Again button but it still doesnt work, As for my partner he just get the new customer screen and thats it.
We are both running running 5.1 and the app version is 2.4.

Thanks for your reply. You're on both the latest firmware on your device and the latest version of the app so there is no reason why the app shouldn't work. The reason for this may be down to the profile of your account instead as you may be registered as a business customer or have a business price plan.

I have also downloaded this app numourus times and tried everything I can think or to get it working but no luck.
I was also told to wait till after my next bill which I did.
Becky, have you got your app working now with the advice given? Or tech team, do you know what is causing this error yet?

Personally I have spent hours, literally hours on the telephone with Vodafone on this eiisue.
I have 4 iPhones on my account and My Vodafone does not run on any of them!
Interestingly it does run on my iPad 3!!!!
I have been told on numerous occasions that the problem has been identified and fixed but all to no avail.
The latest information I have is that the App will not work on any phone when there is more than one phone on the account.
When I queried why the iPad was working I was told it was not, when I explained I was lookiing at it and it was working I was told well then it it totally inaccurate, which in itself was inacurate when I checked on the Vodafone web site.
Personally I am really p***ed with Vodafone about the 7 months this has not worked, the wasted time and effort calling them and NEVER a proactive update.
Must do better Vodafone.

Hi There, I'm also having a similar issue, the app starts, and says fetching data and then says, sorry we could not fetch your details at this time, try again later. Im using an iPhone 3g on ios 4.1 (or 4.2 - not sure right now). Any help?

Robster2007 - just to confirm, the My Vodafone app is not affected by having multiple numbers on a single account. It picks up the data specific to the one number, not the account as a whole. I have a few myself and it runs without issue on my iPhone.
I'm confident we can get to the bottom of things.

The app has been working on mine since I took out my contract in September 2011, but since last week I've been unable to access it! I also can't check my usage on the Vodafone website, so I rang them to find out why, I got a woman who barely spoke English and kept asking me the same questions, then said she had reset my registration and it would work....IT DOESN'T!!!!

Thanks for your post. If I'm reading this correctly it would appear that taking an additional line for your husband has resulted in your My Vodafone app not working. I don't see at the moment why this would affect your usage of the app so I'd like to take a look as to why this has happened.

Hi
Having the same problem on my Iphone 3G with 4.2.1
it either says no Network coverage unless I turn on Wifi then it says Unexpected error
