Hi for  every  one  I  just  wan to  know if I  can  unlock my  iphone  4 all career I  have  iphone 4 unlock in vodafone   and  I  live  now  in  Israel   I have   4.1 os  and  basband 2.10.4 is  there  any  way  to  open  it  I   and if i can buy the unlock code

Providing you are the original owner and there is no contractual agreement outstanding on the iphone, you will be able to get the unlock code.

In order for the code to work, the phone will have to be in the UK with an active Vodafone UK SIM card.

This may no be what you want to hear, but the code will not work whilst roaming on a different network.

If you search the internet, there may be a way to jailbreak and unlock the phone.

These mean I should that  I send  my  iphone  to UK  and    then put vodafone sim  and   then  ask  for unlock     there  are  not  way  to  buy the unlock   from  here   mean  Jerusalem  Israel   by visa card

There is no legal way to unlock your phone while it is Israel. If you jailbreak the phone to unlock it you will void your warranty.

However, assuming that you bought the Iphone in the UK, the warranty will not be valid in Israel anyway.

To reiterate the other posters have said...

You can only unlock your Vodafone iPhone whilst you are in the UK and you need to be out of commitment.

Did you get your orignal iphone from vodafone?

If you are no longer within contract and still have access to iTunes, then we can do this for you. As the unlock for this handset isn't done via a NUC and instead done via iTunes.

Just memo_love, i have iPhone 4 with baseband 03.10.01 buy from Vodafone UK.Currently I live in Bulgaria
and I can`t come back in the UK to unlock the phone. I don`t want to jailbreak it because I want to buying a program from the App Store for greater security.
Can you tell me how to unlock it?

I read that you helped another colleague (memo_love) uses the iPhone 4 to unlock it to all operators. I do not want him doing jailbreak! When I bought my phone was a 4.1 version and BB 02.10.04, but once it became an updated through iTunes to 4.2.1 and BB 03.10.01
Like memo_love I'm also purchased your phone from Vodafone UK, but can not use it here in Bulgaria where I live now.
I have an account on iTunes and all the data on my phone.

to try and clear this up...

IF YOU ARE IN A CONTRACT WITH VODAFONE.... your iPhone cannot be network unlocked.

IF YOU HAVE FINISHED YOUR CONTRACT WITH VODAFONE... you can get customer services and request it to be unlocked. You must be in the UK for this to work. If not, it will fail. There is no way around this.

IF YOU PURCHASED YOUR IPHONE PAY/GO OR SIM ONLY... you can get customer services and request it to be unlocked with a administration fee. You must be in the UK for this to work. If not, it will fail. There is no way around this.

leighjones123 is close to spot on, but I just need to correct a little part of this. This is due to the fact that the iPhone is unlocked slightly differently to other handsets.

If the iPhone is in contract, you cannot unlock this.

If the handset is out of contract, you can request an unlock. We then send the request to Apple and, on confirmation, you simply need to pop in a previously unused SIM and connect the handset to iTunes to update it.

If the handset is PAYG, you can request an unlock for a fee of £19.99. We then send the request to Apple and, on confirmation, you again pop in a previously unused SIM and connect the handset to iTunes to update it.

That's the key difference - you don't enter a code, iTunes does it for you.

I'll pop you an email so that you can let us know your details if you want to proceed.

May I ask why you say 'a previously unused sim'?

All you need to do is to connect to iTunes using a different sim to that of the network it was locked to. Once that is done you can use any network sim (except 3 network I think)

I assume that is what was meant, but today is pedantic day
