Just replaced my iPhone 4 with a brand new one from the Apple Replacement Service. At first I had normal signal arund 2 bars-ish now I have one maximum or none at all. I have a sure signal box but I know it is not the sim because I had the sim in another phone whilst I was waiting to get the phone replaced and it worked fine and also worked fine in my old iPhone. Please could someone help as I can't even ring vodafone due to having no signal whatsoever
thankyou

Hi lja__93,
You mention in the subject line that it's everywhere but then make reference to a Sure Signal. Can you confirm if you've only been trying this in a localised area, your home or in wide-ranging locations since the decline started? This will help to see if it may be tied to the Sure Signal, localised signal or something more general.
If it's a localised area, say approximately one mile square, then can you check our Network Troubleshooting thread for me?
If it's more at home, can you provide the Sure Signal serial number for me and check out the Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?
You may also need to transfer ownership of the Sure Signal to another number if possible and remove and re-add your number following the handset change, then move ownership back. If you don't have another number registered on there already which can take ownership, then it can be deregistered completely, then re-registered for this number. If you still have issues accessing the online management system, then let us know and we'll look to do this for you if needed.
If it is a wide-ranging area, then can you try the following steps for me?
- Switch to airplane mode and back to force a network reconnection.
- Ensure you're running the most recent iOS version.
- Try a handset reset
Before going for a full restore, you may also want to pop to your local Vodafone store and pick up a replacement SIM, just to help rule out any issues there for you. If the regular signal you've been getting is closer to 2 bars then it's less conclusive if it drops to one than if it started at five bars.
Let us know how you get on.

My Vodafone Huawei 3G USB stick is getting 3G signal when I'm on the train quite often when the phone is only getting a GPRS signal. Why is a 3-year old stick USB so much better at picking up 3G than a brand new iPhone 4S?

Hi swampdemon,
To be honest you will sometimes see this with different devices as it will depend on the software that the handset uses to register the signal and also how good the antenna is.
Can I ask how many bars of 3G signal your dongle picks up when you are on the train?
Also do you have a case on your iPhone?
James
