I preordered the iPhone 4s and also get NHS discount on top to take my bill to around £36.
A week after I received my iPhone I got a bill through for £46 I rang up and they credited me for £9.20 (NHS).
A month after receiving the iPhone I got a bill for just over £78. Thinking what the heck! I rang up Vodafone in for them to say I am paying for a month and a half and they hung up. Looking on my bill it says I am paying from the 27th October to the 12 December. Rang up again and they explained I am now paying in advance. Also asking about why my £59 in credit from the preorder wasnt there they said "that will go on next month"
Why am I paying for a month and a hlaf in advance? surely that means I shouldnt now pay a bill until January/February? (Only had phone 1 month but paying 2 and a half months worth of bills.
Anyone care to explain?

Your bill be pro rata for the first month. You would have been charged pro rata from the 27th October to the 11th November to your billing date on the 12th November, plus one full months line rental 12th November to the 12th December.
Line rental is always in advance, and your December bill will be for the January line rental.
You will find the following link full of useful and helpful information and will explain how your first bill is calculated.
Why is my first bill higher than expected ?
If you do a search of the forum, you will also be able to find lots of previous threads which will be very helpful.
