Password reset emails from Voddafone.

This is not Apple specific but it does not seems to ft anywhere else so may as well give it a shot here:

Why are Vodafone sending out Password reset emails? (images)

I have traced the email and they do come fron Vodafone Services in Germany but why two in 15 minutes? Especially as they were not requested

Hi kids,

At any point within the last few days, have you requested a password reset at all?

Thanks

Re: Password reset emails from Voddafone.

Hi kids,

I must admit that this is a bit of a strange one as they definitely should be sent if a request has not been made.

Can I ask if you are able to log into your online account ok?

If yes then I would log in and change your password manually and then change it back.

However if you do continue to get these messages please let us know so we can keep an eye on it for you.

James

Re: Password reset emails from Voddafone.

Hello James.

Yes I am able to log into both 'My Account' and these boards OK, both of which have different passwords.

I have not received any more than the three emails from yesterday so maybe someone (or something) was just trying to annoy me. :smileyfrustrated:

Now all you have to do is to try and stop that damm Vodafone survey that I have already completed from popping up after every post. :smileyindifferent:

Re: Password reset emails from Voddafone.

Hi kids,

The best plan of action is to forward the emails to phishing@vodafone.co.uk. There's more advice on what to do with suspected spam emails here: report spam emails or phishing to Vodafone

Thanks,

Tom

Re: Password reset emails from Voddafone.

Tom.

If I get any more I will do that.

The thing that convinces me that they were from Vofafone is that the name they used for me was my name that I use for 'My Vodafone' account not the name I use for these forums.

The name is all in lowercase and not one that I have ever used elsewhere, only for 'My Account'.

Yep, it's entirely possible it's a genuine email, but I think it's better to be safe than sorry, particularly as you haven't requested a password reset :smileyhappy:
