Proof of purchase needed for insurance

Hello,

I'm trying to obtain a proof of purchase for my iPhone for a insurance claim with Lloyds.

I've rang customer services, telling me to send in a letter stating what I need and provided the relevent information that was given to me buy cust services, which i have done,  and I have also e-mailed into cust services, both with no avail. Is there perhaps another way I can go about getting a proof of purchase? Any idea's would be greatly appreciated!!!

Cheers!

Re: Proof of purchase needed for insurance

The methods you are using are the normal methods, its the same problem with 3rd party insurance.

You could ask them to do a conference call, where it could be confirmed the IMEI number etc when they were there.

When you purchased the phone did you not get some sort of bill for it either as an invoice o on your odafone account that you could send to the Insurance Co?

Re: Proof of usage needed for insurance

No kids, I bought it new off eBay, which I do have a invoice of from ebay, but Lloyds are refusing to accept this, and pointed me down the proof of usage, ( I just realised i used the wrong word in the title!!), and now I just seem to be hitting this brick wall..

Re: Proof of usage needed for insurance

From reading other threads on the same subject it looks as though the only way to get the 'Proof of usage' you need is through CS which you are already doing.

Also from the other threads there does not appear to have been a definitive resolution to any of them other than the advice to keep chasing CS to provide the letter you require.

Hopefully a Mod will land on your posting and be able to chase CS up for you. If you do get a resolotion from VM maybe if you posted how it was resolved back on this forum it would help others in the future as it seems to be an ongoing question.

Good luck with your claim.

Great, thanks kids.

It just looks like it's going to be a cat and mouse game I think!

Hi Hatster

It's our Customer Service email team who compile and send out any necessary Proofs of Purchase. This is now the standardised way to obtain the required information for Vodafone UK.

It's a simple process, just go to the Contact Us link. Complete the required information, not forgetting to include the handset and account details. Once this is received and processed, you will receive a reply including your Proof of Purchase.

I understand you've sent an email to this department? Did you receive an almost immediate automated response to acknowledge receipt of this email. If not, the chances are this was lost and you would need to send a new one.

I trust this answers your query, but let me know if you've any further questions.

Regards
