Hi,

My iPhone4 has gone into recovery mode after I was prompted by iTunes to install new software. I have gone through the steps to retosre 4 times on 2 computers and each time the result is 'restoration was unsuccessful. This is unacceptable as I have work to do. Please advise next move.

Do you know the error code that was shown when you tried to install the new iTunes? If so you can enter it into the Apple website for assistance.

On the screen of your phone is there any display, does it show the iTunes plug? You should only try to do a restore from the computer the phone and iTunes account was originally authorized on, doing it on a different computer will not have the backup of your phone on it.

It is not an unusual problem but it is with iTunes, so it may be worthwhile removing iTunes and downloading it again, then try to restore the phone from the computer that has the last backup on ( the one that you have been using to do regular backups) if that fails then your only option may be to restore the phone as a new phone in iTunes but of course that means reloading all of the data you had on your phone.
