Seriously Annoyed!

[ Edited ]

I am seriously annoyed!

First I go through the process of ordering a Samsung Tab only to be told that they are out of stock and I would be contacted again when in stock, over a week passes and I hear nothing, no stock.

So by this time I cancel the Samsung tab order and ask what the lead time of an iPad 2 would be and was told there were plenty in stock.

So I get a call from the Vodafone team and we sort out a new contract for the iPad 2 and we sort out the delivery date for today, I took a day off work to take delivery of this and was told it would be with me today.

Well at I have just got a text saying it has been delayed and now has an estimated delivery to my address of tomorrow, I wont be here tomorrow, no one will!

Seriously what kind of operation are you running here at Vodafone!?

First you hook me up with a product but have no stock and no idea when you will get stock

Next you hook me up with an iPad, promise me you have stock and promise me that you will get it to me today and you fail on that as well!

I have been seriously messed about and I am not happy

Next day delivery is just that, next day, and not a few days latter or next week or whenever you or your couriers decide to deliver - it is next day

What I do not understand is that the tracking says the iPad is at my local delivery depot and "Your parcel is going out for delivery"  so why the text/delay??

Re: Seriously Annoyed!

Update: tracking now shows it being out for delivery between 15:30 and 16:30

So why the text saying it was delayed until tomorrow?

Seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing

Re: Seriously Annoyed!

Woppy,

The texts are sent out by the delivery company as part of the tracking informations service.

On occasions messages may be sent out in error. If you have a timeslot now you should be fine for delivery this afternoon

I appreciate that the delivery company send out texts

However the texts I received were from Vodafone and not the delivery company

Re: Seriously Annoyed!

Woppy,

The text sytem is automated and the delivery companies computer system will send message as if they were from Vodafone as you are a Vodafone customer. If they were deliverying somethign from O2 or Orange for example the text would appear from O2 or Orange.

It's just a case of checking the package senders ID and matching it up when sending out the SMS notification.

Nabs please don't try and teach me how to suck eggs, I am well aware of how the system works.

The text I got was from Vodafone and not the delivery company

Anyway it is academic as the iPad was delivered this afternoon

Hi Woppy

Thanks for your post. It's a shame to see that you feel disappointed about the ordering an delivery process. As Nabs has advised the delivery text is sent on behalf of Vodafone by the delivery company as they are privy to the delivery information regarding the exact time of delivery. If you have received a delayed delivery text in error then I can only apologise that this has caused some confusion.

If you require any further assistance please let us know.

Thanks

Simon
