Shall I send my iPad 3 back

Really considering this...

I ordered a white ipad 3 thru the eforum team, opened the package there was a black one inside, even though the receipt says white, rang vodafone and they were happy enough to switch it, but after trying this one i quite like the colour.. but ive found 3g speeds to be really slow (around 1meg or less) even with full signal and actually seeing the telepone 'mast' sometimes it just wont even load a page!

Now i know this could be the ipad but im seriously considering jumping ship after 8 or so years to three, espicially after 191 customer service and now them messing me around with a sure signal price, telling me all sorts lol and with my local store now turning into a place where hungover dozy, like laying all over the desk, 'vodafone employees' like to hang out who actually dont have a clue about the job they are doing!

so before i put the ipad in it return pack, whats peoples thoughts on the 3g speed, does vodafone offer the fastest/best 3g around? shall i keep my faith in voda just for the eforum team? :smileyindifferent:

With Three you will need to be sitting under the mast.  :smileylol:

Have you tried speeds in a different location? It could just be that the speed you would like to achieve is not available with the coverage /usage in your location.

Re: Shall I send my iPad 3 back

i think this is the problem! i know three has goodish signal, and in some cases better than vodafones where i am, but there seems to be so many bad reviews about them (like 191 :smileytongue:)

havent had a chance to try it somewhere else yet, arrrr confused need to make a decision quickly! if u see a mad man driving around with an ipad hanging out the window with a speedtest app running or standing under masts dont worry its only me! lol

Re: Shall I send my iPad 3 back

just checked if there is going to be any uprades in my area and there isn't :smileysad:

why is it that london and other places seem to be constantly upgrading broadband and phone signal and pay the same price as people who cant get theses super quick services

really get on my nerves how networks seem to only bother with london and major citys, surely it would be better upgrading the country and having a good fast signal everywhere and not just in one place, wouldnt they get more customers? the money is just wasted upgrading one place all the time where speeds are already fast! rant over lol!

Re: Shall I send my iPad 3 back

They upgrade in cities as they have millions of customers there, to upgrade an area with only a handful of people doesn't make as much sense?

As for speeds mine is fine everywhere I want it to be (all out of a city my the way), the only place I have no signal is at my home but I have wifi there so no really issue.

Re: Shall I send my iPad 3 back

Yeah obv it isnt worth doing it in remote areas, but large towns etc you should be able to get a decent 3G signal... Like I say the speed is likely due to the iPad, I've decided to send it back in the morning but have a white 32 on the way to try. It's struggling to pick up signal compared to the iPhone

Re: Shall I send my iPad 3 back

And why do places like London need constant upgrading, it gets to a certain speed and the user won't notice the difference, why not spend that money on towns. It's like there trying to keep up with Japan etc and forgetting about everyone else Hmm thinknim just a moaner lol

Re: Shall I send my iPad 3 back

Mine is a better speed than my iPhone so if yours isn't seems odd?

As for London I see your point but I guess we just hear more of upgrades there is again there is more people it will effect. Also as 3G becomes more and more used, especially in built up areas it needs to be upgraded and as London is the most built up area of the country it needs to be the quickest to keep it the place businesses etc want to work from.

I'm sure when 4G eventually finds its way to main stream the rest of the country will slowly be improved.

Re: Shall I send my iPad 3 back

Hi Tom5865

Thank you for your posts and it is great to see you..:smileyhappy:

We are constantly looking to improve our network in all areas, you can check your coverage and you can also rate this under the map and this is fed directly to our network team.

Not sure that changing the colour or memory of the iPad (unless there was a fault) will make a difference with the signal however I do hope that you decide to stay with Vodafone as we have awards for our coverage coverage.

The Sure Signal is a fantastic device for 3G coverage however if you have WiFi at home this would work extremely well for your internet usage.

Many Thanks

Re: Shall I send my iPad 3 back

Well got the iPad in the colour I originally wanted and the size after I changed my mind. Network seems to have improved for some reason? Maybe something like a new install on the iPad may have fixed the issue, dunno lol

Thanks
