First time poster.
I have upgraded to the iPhone 4 and would like to pass on my old 3g to my Dad but I'm hitting a problem!!
I have read through some of the posts and I have got the TUC code to unblock the network restrictions as instructed.
I have reset the iPhone 3g back to orginal settings but the phone recognise my dads Virgin network sim card to allow hime access to the phone to unblock!!
Hope someone can help because this is doing my head in!!

There is in fact no code to unlock an iPhone, it is all done by conecting to iTunes. If you completed the NUC form any reference number you received was not an unlock code.
So: If you did complete the NUC form and received an acknowledgement you need to wait up to seven working days and then connect the phone to iTunes with a non-Vodafone sim it it.
You say the phone recognises your dad's Virgin network sim, I assume you mean it does not recognise the sim, if it does recogonise it them the phone is already unlocked.

thanks for the reply.
Sorry I should have said applied for the code and you are right I missed out 'doesn't'.
So when the confirmation comes through I just connect to iTunes and it should confirm the phone is unlocked then, is that right?

Not quite!
The confirmation email will confirm that Vodafone have asked Apple to unlock the phone, then you are in Apple's hands.
It can take up to seven working days to complete the whole process, so, when you have the confirmation email connect the phone to iTunes daily until you see the 'Congratulations' message.
