i am visiting America next week, and my unlock from Vodafone came through today, thanks Vodafone! 

first, i don't have a SIM card to test this, so can i assume receive Email from NUCresolutions with following message can be taken as iPhone has been unlocked? 

"The iPhone as now been unlocked - Please replace the SIM (use a SIM which has never been used with this iPhone) and connect to iTunes or perform a software restore via iTunes." 

now, the main issue:  when it says connect to iTunes, does it HAVE to be the SAME iTunes i synced with? i am syncing on a desktop, will not be able to connect to this itunes when i am abroad inserting the America SIM card. 

finally, when i return to UK, original vodafone SIM will be able to work without need to connect to itunes?

As far as I'm aware, it doesnt matter if it was the same itunes you synced with. Your iPhone will be completely unlocked so your Voda sim should work no problem
