Unlocking an iPad

Hello, I bought an iPad off a friend that was an unwanted gift, and they initially told me it was unlocked. I went ahead to insert my SIM card but none work except Vodafone. I have googled around and can't find nothing, so are you able to unlock it. I'm happy to part with the £20 fee or whatever, but not sure how I'd do it.

As obviously I can't call from the SIM card if it's inside the iPad.

Thanks.

Re: Unlocking an iPad

Hi JayRoy,

Thanks for your post regarding the unlocking of your iPad. The iPad can only be unlocked by the original owner so you would need to get in contact with your friend and ask him to make the request. I appreciate that this may be difficult for you however, for security and data protection purposes, only the original owner can request for it to be unlocked.

Thanks

Andrew
