requested the unlock code for my 3GS approx two weeks ago now after deciding to switch to a SIM only plan on another network. Still havent recieved the unlock code from vodafone and have tried all ways of attempting to unlock it through itunes. Currently having to pay for both contracts and am not seeming to get anywhere! can someone suggest something I can do or do I just need to keep waiting?

Did you receive an email from Vodafone with a reference number? If so it is worth posting it here so a Mod can take a look at it for you.

There is no unlock code for the iPhone. Vodafone ask Apple to change the lock details in the Apple database to show it is unlocked, after Apple do that when you connect your phone to iTunes with a non-Vodafone sim it it you will see a pop-up in iTunes congratulating you that your phone is unlocked.

Thanks for your post here and Kids is spot on.

I have checked our email system for the address that you have used to register with us however, I can’t see any history for an unlock code request however this may be the case if it was raised by customer services over the phone rather than online.

If this was done over the phone and you don’t have a reference for the request please can you complete the online request form here as this will also give us a paper trail for you.

Once done you will be given a reference number which we will be able to chase after 3 working days.
