This sounds very convoluted - so this can only be solved by googling the problem, registering on your forum and requesting you contact us?
It seems like a common problem that should bve solved in a more straight forward manner.
A simple 'help' or 'what's this?' link on the box that requests the pin would aid customers.
Please contact me ASAP, I need to access my bill.

I have the exact same problem as these many many other people, could you not send out the account numbers printed on the information that comes with the phone?!
Please can you send me the email to get the account number with.

I am yet another new port just arrived from o2. Not impressed so far - to complete my registration I have to give my account number or pin, I have been given neither. Followed advice in this topic, to text ACCOUNT to 97886, but like the other people, I got a reply saying "not eligible for an upgrade". I DON'T WANT AN UPGRADE, I JUST WANT MY ACCOUNT NUMBER.
Why can't Vodafone just email your account number when they email your welcome message? Why is it so difficult to get a simple account number? I am asking this question in this topic one year and 4 months after the original poster had the problem - why over a year later has this irritating problem been left unresolved. What's the big secret that makes vodafone need your account number from you, but not give it to you in the first place!!!
Can anyone tell me how I can get a basic part of the online registration process, my account number. I don't want anyone else's, I just need mine so I can use the Vodafone website.

I'm sorry for the late reply but we're busier than ever right now which means it's taking longer than we'd like to respond to messages.
First of all, you can get your account number by the means mari1970 provided, or you can request the account number by text.
To get your account number by text, simply follow the below instructions:
Create a new message to 97886
Type "Account" and your postcode
The message should look like this example- Account NW1 1WN
If this doesn't work then please reply to the email I've just sent to your all and we'll be in touch.

I am left with an iphone 3gs after my employer went into administration. Would like to use phone for my personal use but obviously have no way of contact my employers for account details or to release phone. Advice please
Have tried texting to 97886 but cannot get assistance needed.

Hey having same problem, so annoying....
I have txt the number , with the reply off ' no upgrade available' :-/
I have a letter here regarding DD details with an account number at top, and jus keeps saying its wrong!!
