Who is happy with vodafone ?

Hi to all you readers,
After getting the iphone 3Gs two weeks ago I had a look on this forum to get more information on the iphone, it seems that there is a lot of unhappy people out there. I have been with vodafone for longer than I care to remember and I have never had a problem that wasnt sorted quickly and efficiently,If I have difficulty with the call centres then I just pop down to my local Vodafone store in MACCLESFIELD where the manager, MARTIN, will have the answer or a solution to the problem (he seems to know everything).
As for the iphone in, the two weeks I have had it I have not had a bad experience, I have travelled all over the north west, yorkshire, cumbria and further, the only time I lost signal was deep into the lake district(which is usual), 3G reception was erratic but always had network connection.
My average use is about 2 hours on the phone and maybe half an hour gameplay (during lunch) I left the phone on to see how long it would last and got 38hours with the aforementioned usage, Do I have an exceptional handset? for those who are interested it is an Iphone 3Gs on vodafone uk5.1 version 3.1.3(7E18) model number MC132B.

Anyway, I for one am and always have been happy with the products and services from Voda and just thought I would post a positive note, would be interesting to see how many more happy customers are out there, and no I dont work for Vodafone.

Note to VODAFONE I nominate MARTIN, Manager vodafone macclesfield for your highest award for exceptional customer service.

Come on everyone post your positive experiences and give a pat on the back to those who deserve it.

Regards to all

Who is happy with vodafone ?

I am very happy with Vodafone. I had problems with my 1st Vodafone handset, liaised with the customer care team via email and they did enough for me to be happy. Also other minor issues were dealth with efficiently by the customer services team when I rang them. A number of mods ere are pretty cool (Lee H your still my favourite mate lol) and its good you can liaise with them with regards to phone issues.

Its funny as I was originally a Voda PAYG customer for 5 years, they offered me poor service in 2003, switched to o2 who were the best back in the day, funny they have gone downhill since and Voda are clearly moving up again in my estimations. Not perfect, but doing enough to keep me happy :)

Cardiff store was top for me - on two separate occasions, even before getting the iPhone.

That's the 'old' Cardiff store near Debenhams, Kudos to James Munro-Morris for excellent customer service. Given somewhat of a cold-shoulder, 'take-it-or-leave-it' attitude in the new store (new retail centre that was opened in the last few months).

Credit where it's due!

I think they are fine as long as nothing goes wrong and you don't take their network claims too seriously.

This is damning with faint praise I know but Vodafone's customer service is basically pants if anything happens that isn't in the script. That said they are still, in my opinion, the best of the service providers in this country (what that says about the others you can work out for yourself) and they have this forum.

I remember the others well enough that I won't be moving but ... happy with Vodafone? That might be taking it a bit too far. I'd be happier if resolving an issue over the phone didn't take an age and depended entirely on luck and if walking into a shop wasn't like tossing a 'Dawn of the Dead' coin ... either empty or full of zombies.

Who is happy with vodafone ?

On a positive note, I have had 5 years of very good service from vodafone, This is why I quite happily chose them as my network provider when I decided I wanted an Iphone.

When I purchased an iPhone and experienced problems recieving signals in some areas that used to be fine, i thought "never mind Vodafone will rectify the problem as they have always been very good in the past". It's when Vodafone posted an official statement saying that there was nothing wrong with the network...nothing more we can do, that my positive opinion of Vodafone changed to a negative one.

I expected them to at least take the next logical step and evaluate the handset. The number of posts in the "poor signal" thread just goes to show that it's not a problem limited to myself. I'm now stuck with a sub-standard phone or service for the next 24 months.

On a positive, optamistic end, I wounder if Vodafone will restore my faith in them, and make me a happy customer again ?

I don't want to be negative but the customer service I have received since joining a month or two ago has been a bit mixed unfortunately. I have spoken to several "departments" including on here obviously, over the phone, by e-mail and directly to the store.

Overall my experience here has been good, the guys here obviously care and do their best under some occasional harsh scrutiny!

However, parts of the company just seem completely disjointed from one another. It's real basic things like your coverage map on the website being less accurate than your own internal map. It's no one being able to tell me who on earth had any Sure Signal's in stock. I've worked in big retail chains before, and usually everyone who works online, on the phones and in stores can see who has what stock. However, I was told by the store they had no idea when they were getting anymore or who had any. I was told by the phones that they also had no idea and suggested I visited all of the Vodafone stores individually to find out. I was also told by my local store that they'd ring me as soon as they had one in stock, but never did. I saw someone walking out of the store with a Sure Signal last week. What else? It's little things like the customer services team ringing me and telling me I could have a Sure Signal for half the price, just less than a week before there was a major coverage upgrade in my area. I now have to send the Sure Signal back.

You know, these things are pretty minor and petty, but they all add up to a poor user experience, at least in my case.

I think basically there just needs to be a little bit more of the left arm needing to know what the right arm is doing which is always going to be the biggest challenge with a company as big as VF.

All that being said, on an individual basis I feel I have ultimately received good service from the people I've dealt with, including those on here, including the lady that rang me last week in response to my complaint but it just needs to gel together a bit better I guess. I hope that makes sense :smileyindifferent:

Who is happy with vodafone ?

Hi,

I am happy with recent service from Vodafone

191 however is awful and I would never recommend anyone to contact them especially if they actually require any form of help or to be spoken to in a reasonable manner.

However the Web Support team who helped me upgrade my contract were excellent especially Matt.

I live in a very poor signal area anyway and I have had fine signal unless I am at work, however I work in the shadow of Ben Nevis and no one gets great service in our work so I was expecting that. My signal on my iPhone is much better than the Blackberry Storm I had before it.

Vodafone also offered to take my old Blackberry for a credit on my account at an extremely reasonable price which I don't think any other operator uses.

O2 have just moved 3G into my area which is surprising, (there is still some parts of our town that don't get broadband) so hopefully Vodafone will be moving with them and getting us on 3g as well.

Who is happy with vodafone ?

Been with Vodafone for about 10 years and never had any problems and always had good service. Pre ordered my iPhone on the 13th of Jan when my upgrade was due online and everything ran smoothly. Phone arrived 2 days later and i have to say i love it. Get good signal and for me its everything i want in a phone. Haven't had to ring 191 since the iPhone was released however the eforum team seem to go out of there way to help everyone which i consider excellent customer service. Hope things continue like this for the next 10 years :-)

Very happy with my 1st 6mths back with Vodafone. Nominate Lee_H on the forum as the most helpful customer services person I have dealt with in any organisation. The forum is a wonderful thing and never surprises me with the depth of knowledge the Forum staff and the public who use it contribute.
Great signal reception, reasonable cost and and helpful staff.
Keep up the good work.

Who is happy with vodafone ?

I have been quite happy with sign up, ongoing support and coverage/speed. However, I've been in Stockholm for a few days and the speed of the EDGE network here, even in rural areas outside the city, is double that of Vodafone in London. It makes the difference between being able to stream internet radio or not, and using the internet frequently or not. In other words, I've been happy compared to other UK carriers, but compared to Swedish carriers vodafone pales. I haven't tried 3G so I can't comment on that, but I can imagine that the situation is similar.
