iMessage activation

I bought a sim only contract on the weekend and I am still unable to send or receive texts or receive incoming calls (I can make outbound calls and use iMessage). I've looked at all the solutions online and still can't get it to work. It keeps saying that iMessage can not be activated. I've tried and failed all afternoon to speak to an actual human being on the customer services number so I was just wondering if anyone had any idea's to sort this

Sometimes turning the phone off and on or airplane mode on and off can help.

You do need connection to the Network via 4g/3G to use idata.

Activation of iMessage is carried out through a sms message, so if you sms messages are not working that will stop iMessage from activating.

 

Once activated iMessage can be used over wifi, 4G or 3G.
