Had a look on various other forums and it seems its not available on most networks...not just uk. Seems sims will work tethered in other devices i.e iphone, but put it in your ipad it wont allow it - much like when apple first introduced tethering on iphone

I don't want to give it back, I just want to be reassured that when tethering is enabled that my iPad/contract will also allow it.

It is a simple request.

I am not asking for it right now, I rcognise most companies have the same issue.

I am just asking for confirmation that I WILL get tethering when it is enabled, is that really too much to ask?

Thank you for your post and I am sad to see the frustration that this has caused you.

Due to the responses from my previous post I have investigated this further, and although the Personal Hotspot is a feature on the new iPad as on the link i posted, unfortunately Personal Hotspot is not supported at this time.

I KNOW it is currently not available and we are waiting on an update.

HOWEVER, I WOULD like confirmation that I will get tethering when it is released, Three have confirmed it will be available but I have had so many answers from Vodafone, I woudl like someone to confirm while I still have a chance to return the device if I will not get it!

I've picked this up for DaveCD and spoken with our tech guys today to see what I can find out on this.

As yet, there is no timescale for if or when Vodafone will support the Personal Hotspot feature on the new iPad. This may change down the line, however.

Seems strange as it is supported on teh iPhone.

I know people are really eager for this but currently it isn't supported and we don't have any details as to whether it will be in the future.

Hi Guys!

Good News for all of you!

Go to Settings > Mobile Data > APN Settings

Here you will find "Internet Tethering" type "www" in APN. Now go to General > Network > Personal Hotspot and switch it to ON mode.

I hope now you will able to use your New iPad as WiFi Hutspot.

I can confirm that personal hotspot now works on the ipad 3 with iOS 6.  Just upgrade your devices to ios6

Are posts being deleted from this thread? When I click on the personal hotspot button it directs me to instructions on the Vodafone website. Pity there are no instructions regarding setting this up
