Hi,

Just upgraded my iPhone 3G to an iPhone 4S and I now wish to pass my old 3G onto someone who has an O2 sim however it does not accept the O2 sim.  Is it possible to have the phone unlocked so it will accept the O2 sim?

If the device is on a Pay Monthly agreement  the device can only be unlocked by the registered owner and this is free.

For a Pay As You Go phone however as there is no requirement to register then this can be unlocked providing the required information here: http://campaigns.vodafone.co.uk/UnlockCodeRequestForm/  is provided and there is £20 credit for the payment on the Pay As You Go SIM.

Once you complete the NUC form wait 7 working days and then connect the phone to iTunes with a non-Vodafone sim card in it to complete the unlocking.

Thanks for the reply   The phone was bought on a Pay Monthly agreement.  How do I go about getting it unlocked?

Stick £20 0n a Vodafone PAYG sim and put it in the phone  then fill in the NUC form http://campaigns.vodafone.co.uk/UnlockCodeRequestForm/ 

After seven days connect the phone to iTunes with a non-Vodafone sim in it.

ive requested an unlock on a 3gs i got given and would like to know when its gonna be done

You can ask a Mod to check the status for you if you post the reference number Vodafone gave to you.

It needs the original owner of the phone to request the unlocking, unless it was sold as a PAYG phone when you will need to put £20 credit on it to pay for the unlocking fee.

Can I ask if you have a reference number for your unlock code request?

Also when was your request made?
