iPhone 3GS sim card not compatible after updating software...

I ve have backed up and down loaded new iOs but my phone has since stop recognising the original sim- I tried another vodaphone pay as you go sim and no different. I ve had this before and had to swop the hand set in an apple store. So the imei is different to the one on my account. Can you help may be unlock it.. As I've upgraded any way and have new 4gs I was just backing up to new iOS to make sure everything could be restoreed t o new phone

Re: iPhone 3GS sim card not compatible after updating software...

If the phone has stopped recognising the Vodafone sim after updating iOS that indicates that the phone was unlocked illegally and that the phone was originally locked to another network.

If that is the case then it will have to be that network that unlocks the phone for you. What is puzzling is your comment that this has happened before and the phone was replaced.

Where did the phone come from originally?

I'm sorry but the information you have given here is difficult to understand and makes little sense. You seem to be saying that TWICE Apple has given you a replacement phone that was locked to a network other than Vodafone. Is that right? if so then you have been extremely unlucky as that is a very rare event although I have heard of it happening.

If that isn't right please explain more clearly what the issue is.
