Hi.

Today I cancelled my contract with Vodafone, requesting PAC etc.

I assumed as I bought my phone through Carphone Warehouse that it would be unlocked, however, it is locked to Vodafone, I am assuming the first-SIM-to-use lock took place.

I have requested the unlock via your website, but would like to know where I stand. Carphone Warehouse says that as it was a contract through you, I need to contact you, as you can still supply the unlock even though it was bought through a third party and that I had the phone replaced. As it locked to your network, you can unlock it.

I have only today added the IMEI to my account, hopefully this will help

I am quite confused and angry, I don't want to have to jailbreak just to unlock.

if CPW set you up with a contract with Vodafone then the phone would be locked to Vodafone, Maybe you should have a go at CPW if you feel that you were misled.

You can request the unlocking by completing the NUC form:http://campaigns.vodafone.co.uk/UnlockCodeRequestForm/

Once Vodafone have accepted the unlock request it can take up to seven working days for Apple to process the unlock.

I wasn't having a go. Frustration really that i cant just pop a new sim in and go

Will vodafone accept the request? Apple say you have to contact the provider not the seller

Only the network can request the unlocking so you should be OK as you are the person to who the phone was supplied on a contract to.

Cool thanks for your help just a bit worried as not physically ever given my imei to vodafone before and dont recall getting a physical receipt

Using the phone on your account would automatically register the IMEI. On your account.
