iPhone 4s photos problem

new to iPhone, so excuse wrong terminology !

I am unable to open photos app on home page - it just comes up with what would be the index page, but goes straight back to homepage. I have reset handset, then restored contacts, but made no difference. I tried to sync photos, but that fails with previous sync incomplete message.  This problem started after I went to the local vodafone store to get my contacts shifted across from previous handset, along with some photos. If I take a photo with the camera, it shows on bottom left of screen, but I am unable to open them either...

I can see on my laptop that there's a folder called iPod Photo Cache, with files in it, and I've also tried deleting that, then chosing a different folder to sync, but still no joy...

Anyone else had this problem ? this is driving me mad :-(  is there a way of deleting the cache on the iphone itself ?

thanks

Anne

Hi Anne,

I haven't come across this problem myself.

Have you tried a full reset on your iphone?

In iphone settings>General>Reset and select the option to erase all content and settings and your phone will be the same when you first had it.

Re: iPhone 4s photos problem

When you open iTunes with your phone connected and you click on the Photo tab at the top does this then open a window that shows you all of the photo folders that are on your laptop?

I have found that iPhone photo cache that iTunes creates on your hard drive can be a bif iffy, so I have created a folder that all photos I want on my 3 Apple devices go into, But you should see and be able to select all of the photo folders that you want to sync from  your laptop when the Photos tab in iTunes is selected.

Re: iPhone 4s photos problem

hi

ended up having to reset iphone to factory, and re-install itunes on laptop... thankfully the contacts had sync'd ok :-)

not sure what went wrong, but is working ok again now... maybe the stuff they did in store to copy the data over from old phone didn't complete properly and somehow corrupted the ios/cache...

cheers

Re: iPhone 4s photos problem

Hi Anne,

That is fantastic news that you have you 4s backup and running, maybe something they did at the store, sometimes the staff at the stores than can do things in strange ways.

Re: iPhone 4s photos problem

The person to who the phone was supplied as part of his / her contrat must be the person who requests the unlock. As  the device is on a Pay Monthly agreement then the device can only be unlocked by the registered owner and this is free. Get them to fill in this form:

 http://campaigns.vodafone.co.uk/UnlockCodeRequestForm/
