iPhone - Grindr App stops working on 3G

Hi lottybrum,

This issue is being investigated - we're doing all we can to find out what is stopping this from functioning.

We cannot offer a specific explanation for this as yet as this is still being looked into - the honest truth is that as soon as we know what's causing the problem, we'll sort it.

As soon as we have any information we will be on to let you all know.

iPhone - Grindr App stops working on 3G

Hi Lee76.

Unfortunately there isn't any more information I can give that hasn't already been given in this thread.

Vodafone are aware and we are currently in the process of resolving this issue

If your already able to view restricted content (ie youtube etc) then your content control bar will have already been lifted.

All the best

iPhone - Grindr App stops working on 3G

Well as like everyone else I have experienced this problem. Not only was it the fact that a few weeks ago they applied a block onto my account, which ended up me having been sent a new iPhone but now they didn't even tell me after hours on the phone to them that there was a known problem. I have friends on O2 and Orange and they have no problem, my partner has a Vodafone iPhone but is able to use Grindr so this is not just a blanket port blocking so you techie guys might be looking at the wrong page if at all. I am a IT consultant and like most people know about BACKUPS and ROLLBACKS so why hasn't this been put into effect. WHY? Could it be that its a GAY app so therefore doesn't warrant Vodafones attention.

I had to tell the iPhone techie this evening about this forum as he and his colleagues knew nothing about this fault, come on VF get your act together and get this resolved before major questions start getting asked about your service and policies.

OB.

If it isn't all vodafone users, is it just in certain areas? - I'm near Aldershot. Also a progress report would be helpful from mods - what do the techies say is the likely cause - how are they investigating and the potential timescale for a fix? It is the not knowing whether it will be tomorrow or 6 months or never which is frustrating. Communication is the issue.

In all honesty, this situation is ridiculous, we are not asking for an overnight solution to the problem, but as pointed out by two vodafone eforum staff above, vodafone are aware of the problem so why not at the very least give us an explanation as to why we can't use this app. They have had long enough to find out what it is, whether it be policy decision, technical fault etc etc. and I think we have a right to know. This is causing much speculation on gay social websites amongst users on the vodafone network and I think vodafone have had long enough to offer some explanation.

Totally agree with this. It is ridiculous that nobody is updating us!! It has been nearly a week since the problem started.

Hi Guys,

I can appreciate your frustrations around this issue as Ive said before a few posts ago.

Hi markeey, Unfortunately we cannot give out this information out.

The only thing I can say is that Vodafone are aware of this issue, we have contacted relevant support teams and are currently working to resolve this issue.

Until this is resolved, there is nothing else we can say on this issue.

Thanks for your patience

Can I just bring something to Vodafone's attention.. I think there's a few certain comments that should be removed on page 1 and 2 by a certain user

I think its a bit disgraceful that they haven't already been removed and warned..

Hi jonesy08,

You can use the report function on any posts if you're not happy with them being on the forum, although I've looked over the thread and can't see anything which contravenes our terms and conditions.

Thanks,

Tom

Implying that a massive company such as Vodafone is being homophobic isn't on.
I'm sure they are doing everything they can to remedy the situation .

Well maryd88 implying that all gay men drop their trousers is a bit of a joke.. And more fool Vodafone For leaving that on.

I am not implying that vodafone is homophobic at all and I am sure they are doing all they can.

Grindr is a app for gay men.. So we don't have to speak to narrow minded people.. And for people that live in small towns that know anyone and use this app to meet new people..

straight people have things like loot check it out..

Not once did I say ''all gay men drop their trousers'' , not once .
My comment was my light hearted way of saying the app was a bit saucy .
I'd of written the same if it was hetro .
The fact out of all the guys complaining about the app you were the only one to complain , says to me what I wrote was totally UN-offensive .
Besides if I read a comment saying something like , ''are Vodafone not sorting this cos it's a gay app ''.
I'm sorry but no matter how you read that it does indeed imply Voda are somehow being prejudiced towards Gays.
I'm sorry you don't see that .

Looks a bit 'oop where's me trousers' , so it does !

Would you say that to a stranger.. Now am not on here for a ###### fight cause that's certainly not me.. And I will apologise if i got it the wrong way and if you meant it as a humorous thing to say.

The thing is gay people are stereotyped and that's the way it come across on your post. so if it comes across that way to me how many others that ain't members.

Vodafone should know they have already been in trouble for this before..

I'm also sorry if it was taken the wrong way.
The guys comment about 'is it cos it's a gay app and Voda' however , alas can only be taken one way .

iPhone - Grindr App stops working on 3G

This is an update from grindr support

If you are a Vodafone customer, and are unable to Sign On to Grindr:
Updated 15 March 2010 18:51 GMT / 11:51 PDT

It has been brought to our attention that Vodafone customers can not sign on to Grindr while connected by 3G. When using WiFi they are able to connect.

We are contacting Vodafone to see if this is a temporary issue with their service, if it's a permanent change with their service, or if there is something else going on.

We will update this Support Article as we learn more information

Now I have a question for yah i have the fault codes for these and a line to Techinal support.. Will they update me..

the other question if this app is gonna be down for a considerable time could i leave vodafone?

And whats your Service Level Agreement.. The agreement to me and the other users of vodafone as a customer..

Or shall I put a FOIA
