Re: iphone 4

There was a problem with the antenna on the early 4's that caused calls to drop and this problem can be overcome with a bumper fitted to the phone.

Also some phone cases cause problems in shielding the antenna causing the signal to be partially interupted.

For my myself I have a 4 and have not had any problems with either the signal or Internet speds. Is your problem confined to a specific are or does it occur wherever you are. 3G can be very patchy outside of the main connubations, what signal do you get in a heavily populated area?

Re: iphone 4

Hi bmw222000,

Is this just an issue at your workplace, or does it happen everywhere?

If it is limited to one location, can you confirm the postcode for me so we can investigate?

Also, can you confirm if this happens with 2G and 3G, affects anyone else at the same location and when this started happening?

Dave

Re: iphone 4

hi dave it is happening every where! for the last 3 day's when i try to make a call i just get 3 beeb's then it end's this happen's 3-4 times before the call actually get's through! ive been to the apple store today they have checked my phone over and it's fine, but they said they have had about 20 people in there shop today complaining of the same problem (only on vodaphone) so i phone customer support told him the same as what's happening and he ran through different thing's change sim, update software etc etc but ive done it all before so he couldnt give me a explanation of what's going on only that he could get line support or to look at it! which will now be on my file! im even more upset because to use my internet at work ive had to take out a contract with tmobile for a mifi dongle! i feel raged because im paying £41 per month for a service which im simply not getting! but im stuck in a contract i even asked if i could lower the tarrif and pay it off but i was told i cant on an iphone contract which i wasnt told about when i took the contract out! now ive since took out another iphone contract out with tmobile and she has noproblem's at all! im going to seek legal advice because im not paying for a service vodafone isnt providing!!

Hi bmw222000,

As requested by Dave, please can you let us know the effected postcode so that we can see which site you are connecting to, once we have this we will be able to give more details on what is happening in that area for you.

In the meantime I would take a look at our faults board for the latest known site outages.

James

Re: iphone 4

Hi bmw222000

Thanks for your reply. I can see that the serving cell site ID for the postcode area is 3489. There are no known faults or planned maintenance at this particular site.

However, there is a known fault with 3G/HSDPA service at cell site ID 10899 and this has been raised under case reference 2399105 and this site also serves the local area. Therefore this may be having an impact on data services due to the increased traffic flow and bandwidth used on other sites including 3489. You can find more information on this here.

If you're having difficulty in areas other than this one particular location please let us know.

Thanks

Simon

Re: iphone 4

Hi bmw222000

If you’re having problems all over then it could quite possibly be a problem with your phone. Although your partner and your handsets are the same model, they are not exactly the same. Faults can occur on one handset and the other handset can be fine.

I would suggest sending your phone away for repair to have this looked at.

To find out what you need to do in order to get this sorted take a look at our Vodafone Repairs Thread. This can be found here.

Thanks

Wayne
