Changing text message font size?

3: Seeker Silver

The default font size for my texts seems to be bigger  than I would like, I've managed to decrease the size by pressing down on the volume key but I have to do this every time I open my texts.

Is there a way to change the default font size for texts?

Thanks Smiley Happy

The changed size seems to stick for me. But try isn't an alternative to the stock messaging app.

I use Handcent SMS and it has much greater personalisation options both globally and contact by contact.

My phone stays on what ever size I left it on last time I read a text.

I like it on the smallest size so change it to that but it seems to go a couple of sizes bigger the next time I open the app Smiley Frustrated

Hi there rocketsauce,

Thanks for your post.

The only way I can find to change the font size is as the others describe.

As the other posters have suggested, the font stays at the same setting for me too. Have you managed to resolve this one yet?

Cheers,

Sometimes it stays at the smallest size which is the one I set it to, and sometimes it defaults to a size bigger than that.  It's not a huge deal I just wondered if there was another way to change the size.

I tried Handcent on my old phone and it was a bit confusing, texts would come through twice, once on my default texts and again on Handcent so I just stuck with the standard text messaging app.

Rocketsauce,

You didn't receive the text twice - you received two notifications for the same text as the standard app and Handcent use the same database.

If you want to use Handcent, which is much better than the standard app in my humble opinion, go into the standard messaging app's settings and turn off notifications. then all you will see is Handcent and you can customise the way the messages look globally or by individual contact.

Yeah I meant that I received the notification twice.

Now I know how to turn it off I might consider getting Handcent, thanks Smiley Happy
