New iPad 3 won't connect to mobile broadband!!!

Anyone got any ideas? New iPad 3. Fresh out of the box. Followed instructions, inserted sim..... Nothing... Keeps saying, NO service? Will connect to wifi hub at home, no problem. We spoke to someone at vodaphone, but they didn't seem to know what they were talking about. Sent us a text with things to try: Re insert sim! Reset network settings, turn off and on again!!!!, etc etc...... Any ideas someone... Really frustrating... Thanks

Have you called to activate the sim? If not you can call 191 or go into any Vodafone store and they will activate the sim for you, when I bought a sim instore for my iPad It was activated within a few minutes.
