Just to check ... have you paid the extra (£5.00 per month, I think) for BIS - the Blackberry Internet Service/Solution?
If so, a few things to check.
What does your signal meter show ... is it GPRS/EDGE/3G (with BB symbol) in capitals or lower case?
Can you send/receive a PIN message? Try to send one to yourself (to find your PIN hold SHIFT & ALT then press H). PIN messages use the BB network, so will tell us if the connection is there or not.
Is the invitation you mention showing as Pending in BBM?
Can you add yourself (using your PIN) to BBM? (weirdly, this is possible and it has worked once or twice ... maybe it just gives the system a nudge?)

Thank you for your email and the additional information.
There has been some fantastic support here (Thank You) and it sounds as though there may be an error with the BBM application itself.
Please could you check on BlackBerry App World and check for any updates, if not please uninstall and reinstall the application whilst ensuring your data notifactions are on.
Does all the rest of the services work correctly?
