I'm sure I can help with this issue your having with the Blackberry.
As this handset was attached to a contract formerly, what I'd firstly recommend is to ensure it has been released from the original Blackberry registration. If you request the contract holder to contact customer services, they can check and arrange to delete this if required.If it's still registered you will not be able to use the Blackberry service even if the BIS(Blackberry Internet Services) attachment is in place.
You can add the BIS service yourself in one of two ways:
Get it with my account
Call 40035 free from your Vodafone pay as you go BlackBerry smartphone.
Further details of this you can find in the Blackberry PAYG help pages.
If you have actioned all this, and you're still unable to use the Blackberry Services, then please reply to the email I have sent to your eForum registered email address. Once I receive this I'll be able to assist further.

I'm having the same issue. Didn't see this link earlier but started a new thread http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/BlackBerry-Devices/
Have looked at the faults boards, done everything that is suggested in the thread above- nothing. Any help here.

I'd really appriciate help too! My Torch arrived yday, I can call & text but not access any BIS services. I've requested the host table services & altho the msg sent I didn't get any reply. I've also done a battery pull but nothing is working. I know that I selected to have BIS added to my account, any idea what I can do?

I just bought a new Blackberry Curve 9300 3G on Play.com. When it got here I went through all the setup stuff but I can make calls, texts, bbm, e-mails or internet I have credit but it still doesn't work!
Please help me!

Thanks for your posts here.
So that we know what we are dealing with here can you give us some more information, such as, what is exactly happening when you try to make a call/send a text/access the internet?
Do you get any error messages? If so what are they?
What happens if you put the SIM into another handset? Do you get the same problems?
Have you tried the various pieces of advice in the posts above?

I too am the same as above, my phone was fine until i updated it from the desktop software. Ever since i have not been getting blackberry internet service and it is really frustrating because i need all my servies such as bbm. Ive done battery pulls, the whole host connections registering thing etc, nothings working!
I have full phone signal and 3g coverage but no BIS

I am having exactly the same problems, and have been since Saturday. It appears that from the number of people on here complaining of the same thing, that there are some issues......

Hi Martin - I am having the same problems. Got my Torch on Friday last week - was able to connect to wifi that evening, and have not been able to since Saturday. I have done all of the above suggestions, and could really appreciate some help to fix this! Thanks!

I would like to make sure that you have BIS on your accounts, as if you have done all of the above, this is the next thing that should be covered.
I have therefore just sent you an email, if you can reply back to that with the relevant information, we can then check this out for you.

1. Remove battery from the device
2. Leave the battery out for at least 30 seconds
3. Replace battery and let the device reboot
Step Two - Register on Network: (if step one did not solve issue)
1. From the device go to Options
2. Select Advanced Options
3. Select Host Routing Table
4. Select menu, then 'Register Now'
Try that and see what happens
