Hi all,

Thanks for the advice, I originally installed .216 using bbsak but was getting the lock ups so thought I'd give .230 a punt, but still get them occaisionally.

Did a full wipe initially so not sure what could be causing the lock ups??

Apps installed:

Weatherbug
Food Network Canada 9if you havent seen this its worth a look!)

Sky Mobile - Doesnt seem to work

So Not sure if any of these causes a problem.

Incidentally I did have google sync working on .216 but for some reason I cannot download on .230?

Also someone on here posted a zip with the skyapp, so look for that and try that one.

Problem solved - managed to restore the google sync cod file from my bbsak back up.

Hmm,

This one has me lost. It doesn't seem to contain the same sort of files I have found with other downloads such as the .216. For example; I can't find any loader file.

I noticed there were two types of download, one for java only and one for the full -ish. I chose the full download

Will not need to have .230 installed as this download will include radio file.

I do not know how to install this one.

I currently have a 9500 with 216 installed.

The full is for the 9530.

Choose the other one. It contains the java files for a .238 build.

Replace the java files that are here....

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9500AllLang_v5.0.0.216_P4.2.0.61

...with these new ones. Then click on loader.exe, found here....

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

Don't worry that you don't have .230 installed, .216 is fine as they both have the same platform.

I just joined CB, and already I have a headache looking through their forums. It just seems to be so untidy. They have a sticky thread called ** ALL Storm Software Links- Official & Betas** but it has been locked since May 09 and hasn't been updated, or so it seems, with links to the latest leaked and official updates since then. So you have to trawl through all those threads to try and find the thread that contains the latest updates.

I will try to avoid visiting CB to often as my head is spinning just looking at it and trying to makes sense of it all.

I have seen an OS leak thread grow to over 100 pages in an hour and a half!

I saw the 230 where you indicated but unless I read it incorrectly it seemed to be for the 9530

also on another note, desktop for mac due on the 2nd according to RIM (matches what a mod said last week)

also i had an interesting email last night, with this predicition, onyx/9700/bold - last week of oct, but vf might be a week later, storm2 for early/mid nov. interesting eh!!

Just installed .238. Went to "About" on my Storm and happily saw the "v.5.0.0.238" there. It also has a line under that stating: "Better than RobinM's or daveastra's .238"

One thing that has confused me about the .238 update:

When I go to "Application Loader" on DM I see all the official UK firmware listed. I also see the .216 update next to which it says "Downgrade", which I assume is because I have .238 installed. However; I do not see the .238 firmware listed.
