Aaaaaaarg ! ! ! Black berry service!

Problem, bought the £5 web pack, vodaphone have deducted the money and the days are counting down (it says I have nineteen days left). It doesn't work! I have loaded and used the web pack before and have gone through all the same steps but it is just not functioning at all, no bbm, no browser no nothing. I have taken the battery out and restarted the phone along with all the usual rituals but nothing seems to work and the days just keep counting down. The only service I have is phone calls and SMS. Please don't suggest phoning the help line as that just sends you chasing your own tail and makes me want to throw myself off a building! Any suggestions? Maybe I need to get an I phone or use a different service provider.

Hi Hamilton419,

Have you actually opted in for the Blackberry Services?

If not, you can do this by calling 40035 from your phone or by calling Customer Care.. This will cost £5 a month

Re: Aaaaaaarg ! ! ! Black berry service!

Yes I bought the web pack on line. dialling 40035 for assistance in futile. When I log in I can see the days counting down, which to me is proof that I have bought a web pack and the calendar month is counting down. I had 10 pounds on the balance and after I purchased the web pack my balance went down to 5 pounds and the count down started. I haven't had any use out of the pack and I am feeling a bit ripped off.

You may have bought a web pack, but you still need to opt in for Blackberry services before you will be able to use it..

The number 40035 is not for assistance, it is for setting up the Blackberry services which will cost you an additional £5 a month

Hi Hamilton419,

Thanks for your posts here.

Mari1970 is spot on here and it does sound like you have purchased a web pack rather than a BlackBerry services pack which is what you need to use the BlackBerry functions.

So that I can check this I have sent you a quick PM, please follow the instructions on the PM and we will be able to see exactly what is happening for you.

You can find your PM inbox here.

You are still going to need a web pack on top of the Blackberry service.  Every time you use your BIS, you will be accessing the internet and without the web pack, you will be charged the daily allowance which will work out a lot more expensive.

Take a look at the Freebees, you may be able to get your internet access as a Freebee.   You will need to opt in before topping up to get the Freebee.

Re: Aaaaaaarg ! ! ! Black berry service!

I have bought the blackberry service twice already and I didn't need the web pack on top of the bb service. I paid my five pounds and used the bb service as well as surf the net , no problems. So basically it would be safer to to buy a recharge voucher and activate the bb service through the 40035 number.

I've got the same problem, except, I can't call 40035 like I usually would since I'm not in the UK for a while for holiday & since my service got suspended, I wasn't able to get it back via online.
