Adding Email Problem

I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 which I have had for over a year.  I have had no problems until the last couple of weeks.

I went to Ireland two weeks ago, I could not receive calls or text mesages but I could send and receive emails, use blackberry messenger, facebook and twitter with no problems.  I contacted Vodafone for help with the calls and sms problem and they said I needed a new sim card, which I received when I returned to England.  I am now using this in my blackberry.  When I installed this sim and activated it everything was ok at first, then about two hours later my three email accounts disappeared.

I have got one account back on my blackberry (my hotmail one) but my other two (university and work) do not work.  I am using the same settings that I was using two weeks ago and which others are using successfully, it just does not seem to work for me.  I have tried using the website to set up my email accounts but this does not work either.

Is this a problem with the new SIM card?

Re: Adding Email Problem

Hi Abby_BB

Welcome to the eForum :smileyvery-happy: it is always good to see new faces on here.

Thanks for the detailed information, this really does help us with finding a resolution.

With everything that you have said it doesn't sound like an issue with the SIM card, as you can make and receive calls and use 1 email address.

What I would suggest is to get the service books sent to your phone. To do this go to: Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Highlight a line of numbers > Press the BlackBerry Button > select Register Now.

This will get the latest service books sent to the phone which it needs as they are basically the settings for you phone, apps and email addresses.

Please let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Martin

Re: Adding Email Problem

Hi Martin, thank you for your reply.

I gave this go, but no joy.

The message I am getting is as follows;

"Invalid email address or password.  Verify your email address and password.  If the error persists contact [domain name]"

I have checked the email is address is correct and the password.  I use this email frequently via OWA.  I have even changed the password in an eeffort to help the situation.

Re: Adding Email Problem

Hi Abby_BB,

Many thanks for getting back to us.]

I must admit that this is a strange one however can you confirm if all of your other BIS services are working correctly?

The reason that I ask is that the issue can sometimes be caused by a BIS provisioning issue.

If this is the case and the issue is being caused by your BIS service on your account we will need to access your account to look into this further for you.

Re: Adding Email Problem

Hi Abby_BB,

Many thanks for your response.

My apologies for not being clear, when I mentioned your other BIS services I was referring to the Blackberry messenger and the Blackberry App World however, as you say your hotmail account is working fine then it won’t be an issue with your BIS services.

As this is the case I’m not too sure what else could be causing the issue and as I don’t have any support in at this time of night I will need to pass your query onto our day team who will be able to get you a little more information on what we need to do to get this resolved for you.

Re: Adding Email Problem

Hi Abby_BB.

Thank you for your post, I appreciate the frustration and checked our emails, I can see that Trev is in contact with you now via email so at least this seems to be working now.

I do apologise I am unsure what happened.

Many Thanks
