BIS and WIFI

Hello

Does wifi take priority over BIS/BES or will it use this even if wifi is available?

if this is the case is there a way to set this up on bb9300?

Re: BIS and WIFI

That's an interesting question, I'd like to know the answer to that as well.

Re: BIS and WIFI

Good morning guys,

Once you have set a wifi network up on your BB as soon as you get in to the wifi signal it will automatically connect to the wifi over BIS/BES if you allow the wifi to connect automatically without prompt

Hope this helps

Re: BIS and WIFI

Same problem on my Torch.

It has decided i must logon to wifi even though it is open, and then carries on using BIS via my phone connection.

I am roaming so that is bad news.

I cannot tell whether my internet access is using the wifi, although I guess that should be OK.

Re: BIS and WIFI

Hi all

You need to set your Blackberry to use Hotspot/WiFi browser as the default. If it’s not, it will default to Internet Browser and use your mobile connection when used.

To do this:

With the Blackberry Browser open Click Menu > Options > Click General Properties > Change the Default Browser to HotSpot/WiFi Browser.

Once this is set, the WiFi connection should take priority over the Mobile data connection.

Let me know if you’ve any further questions.

Regards

Worth noting if your device runs OS 6 the selection of Hotspot browser is Automatic and you cannot manually select it.

(OS6 automatically selects the correct browser mode).

In fact the menu path you suggest does not even exist.
