BIS not working, unable to setup/use email etc...

Hi everyone,
can someone please help me with my current situation. I recently upgraded from my BB Bold 9700 to the Bold 9900 and now my BIS is totally up the left, I spent the entire day yesterday on the phone to VF and all they could do was advise me to take out my battery and sim, re-insert them, let the device reboot and the then go to Host Routing Table etc... after continuously trying to explain to them that it wasn't working, I am now left literally not knowing what to do as I have had it with customer support.
In short, one girl I got through to reset my mobile email account and validated the mail accounts I had setup so that they would become active, she did this for my old handset, the 9700. Then another guy deleted my mobile email account so now I don't have one and when I try to create a new one (with my PIM/IMEI) it says its unable to as my account has been suspended or deactivated. I was even advised that I needed a new SIM card even though the old one worked fine; so I go to my local VF store get a new SIM and the situation remains the same. I have even reinstalled the OS and returned the device to it factory settings a few times and deleted the email accounts I had setup in the hope I could set them up again.
If anyone has come across this before could you please advice as I am going to send the device back and cancel my upgrade very soon otherwise.
Thank you

Hi I have had the exact same problem..............new handset bought on Friday..............old bb sim.............wont activate or synch and no blackberry internet service is coming through to the handset even though will go on the internet when you do a manual internet launch......called Vodaphone 5 times fri to sat and have done everything.
They are now saying it may be a faulty handset/sim but I managed to load all my back up info from my laptop and my bbm is live if connected via wifi so I think it must only be a BB email /Vodaphone system problem not your phone. They are saying I should go to carphone wharehouse (where I got the new bb) and check if it works in another bb phone, very scientific!
Have lost faith in Vodaphone over the last 2 weeks as I had a fiasco of an upgrade saga....which lead to me buying the new phone from CPW in the first place.
Cheers

Thanks for the feedback hafs; looks like the people on this forum tho are about as useful as the people they have answering the phones at VF, only good at resolving the most trivial of problems. Going to have to give VF one more call and try and explain to their 'advanced' technicians what exactly has to happen here, if only I worked in a VF office I would have this sorted by now.
Cheers!

Hi J0hnny_0
Thanks for your post here. I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.
So that we can look into this for you I’m going to need to have access to your BlackBerry account. In order for me to do this I have sent you an email over to the email address that you registered with. All you need to do is hit reply and fill in all of the information it asks for. We’ll then get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks
Wayne

Hi - I have the same problems as these users, please can someone contact me to help me work through this. I think my Blackberry internet service has been suspended. I have tried re-registering, sending service books etc but nothing works.
This was caused (I believe) because I changed SIM cards today (after switching over a number from another provider via a PAC code) and also after I changed to a new handset (9900) and did a software upgrade.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem.
If BIS icon is not showing I can't send/receive emails or BBM
BIS is intermittent on VF network but 100% on my WiFi network.
I have wiped my device but no change.
I I run a network diagnostic then this restores BIS for a while

Hi dcroissant,
Thanks for the update here.
To be honest this could be an intermittent BIS issue that you are experiencing.
If you go to options, select device – select advanced settings – select host routing table, press the blackberry button and select register now it will update you on the BIS server.
If the issue still remains after doing this please follow the instructions on the M that I have sent you sop we can check the provisioning of your BIS services.
You can find your PM inbox here.
