Thinking of upgrading soon and the BB Bold 9780 looks good, but no problems are secrets any more thanks to Google, and I have seen a lot of messages about duplicate and triplicate letters being produced by the keyboards on this device; but none here. Does anyone have that problem?

My daughter and I have the 9780 and do not get this. I think it mainly affects those made in Mexico and are in the US or Canada.

I purchased the Bold 9780 on 15th Jan and admnittedly yes mine has started to do it already. It doesnt happen with every letter, just every few words or so, although I can sometimes send a whole text without it happening.

It is slightly frustrating having to double check the text before sending, but all in all the rest of the phone in my opinion is fantastic and at the moment I'm not too wound up with it happening.

I was hoping maybe they could find a way to prevent it from happening but I am yet to come across anything.

Haven't even recived my 2nd bill from vodafone and my blackberry is doing the same.  Big problem.  Here is a link to another forum that has a lot of people from around the world with the same problem.  Think i will have to return my phone.  Apparently it is a problem with phones made before march 11.

Although this is an old post this problem is still occurring. I recently returned a 9780 for repair due to white screen and key stutter. Due to the repair schedule timeframe not being able to be met I was sent a refurb BB 9780 (Hungary 2). However this key stutter is worse than the first and the condition of the housing seems to be of inferior quality with paint flaking off and a crack has occurred on the housing, also the casing as a whole feels 'rough' and a general bad fit.This is definitely not down to misuse or abuse or by dropping the phone. I have had the replacement 9780 now for 14days and will be returning it for further assessment and full replacement of new or alternative as this is not satisfactory. I just know that I will be questioned about the various marks and the 'crack' as down to misuse and I can see a full blown debate ensuing.
